you guys are stuck in the 90s styling wise, you were probably the people that were pissed off when they moved from the triangle/boxy styling of the 80s. Times change and so does styling boys.

with that body I half expect to see it hop up and start killing stuff like an Angel, which would be equally awesome as driving it on a road course...

Yea Mazda did it right! They didn't develop a track box and then slick over the body this thing is the actual race car under the slick panels. So if you put it on the track it will dominate! I wonder who the lucky bastard will be who's going to buy it as a collector car.

This is under the sculpted body!

So Awesome!

I think Mazda, as a company, is still too timid to do another 3 rotor. They need to get the gusto back of the '70s and just go for things again.

they need to do the GLC of the new century. Mazda needs a car that sells like hotcakes, bring in revenue and fund the rotary project.

I'm very hopeful with the 16X and I can't wait to read more on the heat efficiency, mileage and longevity. It's only been 50 years since Mazda put out the rotary and I'm sure there is more to come.

Uhh....just because I disagree with one detail on one new concept car means I'm stuck in "x" era? Then how come 3 of some of my favorite cars are the Saturn Sky R/L, the Honda S2000 and the Infinity G35c? Your assumptions are lame.

Some of us saw them prepping that engine at Racing Beat back during Sevenstock weekend. There are some other really interesting items that they didn't mention about that car in the press release.

Yeah, looks like there is a media embargo on those details, so I break the news early... well not THIS early anyhow.

If I did I don't think it would be proper to post them. Sorry.

I think they shouldn't call it an RX-7 because none of the previous RX-7s were mid-engine. Plus, it would probably be priced way out of the range of even the FD. I like the name "RX-1" for it for some reason.
Uh what? All RX-7's are considered mid engine because the engine is behind the front struts/shocks, thus mid

Actually it did so badly they dropped it. It was underpowered, way overweight and had cooling problems which caused them to create aero problems in order to add more cooling.

Right that it'd be improper and inconsiderate to post spy shots.
