Yes but you have more seat time than me, I was running 12 k all around last year and she was tail happy, the car didnt feel confident and unsettled like for ex the main straight at tmp then the fast right after the main straight... I played with tire pressures 27-30 in the rear to get the car to grip but still felt unsettled.

This will be the first time shes out so sunday will be more of data gathering for me. Any advice and recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

My pyrometer is stuck at the border and I can't go get it myself lol..usps priorty states that since the strike all the mail from the us to canada is held.

I should have one for then so hopefully I can get good data.

Is that 27-30 hot or cold? Readings must always be done/set after they're fully up to temperature. I run 32 hot with my hoosiers, and 36 hot on the RX-8 with OE tires. I think I ran my street tires on the RX-7 once and 34 hot felt comfortable.

Also, don't use TMP as a gauge as that track is very unstable and you need to drive the track there a lot more then other places. By that I mean you need to feel the track a lot more and know what to expect instead of just driving a line. That's why I'm faster then the old man there, I'm kidding Jimmy ^_^

Marco, the tire pressures are after a few laps. You are correct about TMP, i honestly feel that it is poorly designed that awards high power cars....but its close to me and we frequent it often. I have experimented with different lines, the rain is fun as you have to go off the race line to get grip in the wet. I have the habit of carrying over FWD driving from my earlier years lol. But i look forward to learning the car and advice from veterans

Decided I'm still going to come. Bringing the RX-8 with my old rim/tire setup I'm selling. I wonder if 275/40 is overkill for a stock RX-8 LOL

It's not ready for track use yet hehe. Only 400 km on the engine and I still need to figure out a way to install the undertray with the aftermarket bumper on it since the IC isn't getting a lot of air (its escaping under the car).

Thanks to SRTA for yet organizing a great event. Thanks nexmod for the Free BBQ you provided for myself and everyone at the track.

Today was a bit of a disappointment for me. Still running .4bar (Stock boost levels) and cannot better my time. In fact I was slower out this event then the first event.

Also took a few chunks out of my tires. Not sure if it was because I hit the rumble strips twice or my sliding around being slow....

Regardless had fun and can't wait for the next event. My next mods are still wider tires and a race seat.....

Yes indeed! It was an awesome day, thanks again to SRTA for organizing a very well run event. A very pleasant first experience with Sigma.
I was able to learn my car and kept improving my time. During the day lapping i really didnt have a traffic free lap so my times were slow...lol...
But after playing with tire pressures and dampening settings i got the car to where i was happy with.
But i guess for the time attack they grid u based on ur open lapping time..my apologies to IAN again, i didnt mean to catch up to you during our time attack. Sucked to hear that your car was all over the place as you said.
Post my personal best of 1.11.6 on street tires and stock twins on stock boost settings. Im glad i swapped to softer springs, my tire temperatures across the tire were within 1 degree of each other., i havent been so excited about the car lol.

It was also nice to meet and put faces to the names, Ian, Allan, Charles nice to meet you guys. Rick and marco always nice to chat with you guys.
Oh and charles please post or send me the awesome pics you took.

Thanks SRTA! CS13B those are awesome pics!

As it turns out running super aggressive brakes (DTC60/DTC30) gets quite some getting used to, my first time using anything but OEM brakes and they feel like they're either ON or OFF, will practice more next time modulating these things so I quit cutting my speed so much in the corners.

Looking forward to July!

And thanks NEX for the free BBQ!
