On Sept 18 at the big track 4 out of the 22 cars in GT4 - GT6 were driven to and from the track, 2 of them from Quebec! I do understand the fun of time attack however some of the costs of time attack are approaching regional racing.

SRTA would like to sincerely thank everyone from the rx7club for a truly amazing 2011 season. We've never had a larger support than the members here. I grew up here, and it's just so cool to see so many RX-7's come out to some real weekend racing. I love seeing the 7's and 8's always being the largest pack (other than Civics I guess). You guys totally rock! Really!

The results will be up shortly. Stay tuned, it's going be a good one.

Talk to you soon! Back to number crunching!

Is SRTA going to run any other tracks or the perimeter of the DDT next year? We would consider bringing the race car out if they would run the outside or at Shannonville etc.

I hope they introduce another track as well. Also the ottawa crew may bring their FD race car down on sundays if it happens to be on the same weekend as their endurance race at the mosport GP.

2011 Season End Official Results are up!!!

What a dramatic ending!!!

If only Jimmy's car didn't break down... sigh....

****

Now that our season has ended, the team will begin our discussions and planning for the next season. With the turnouts we have this year, you can probably count on us expanding onto other tracks. We'll keep you all posted.

Congratulations rx7club!!!

Cheers!

I can't see me running my GTR on the DDT unless they fix the potholes and stuff. Aside from that you guys run an amazing show and I wish I could have made it out more than just once!

Forza Motorsport 3 or 4 on the XBox helps me get my fix, last winter worked on the 7 every other weekend but this winter not sure if I'll be so enthusiastic to be in a cold garage all the time.

Depending on what CASC race does for next years rules we may take a decidedly different approach for next season that would include Time Attack etc.

Watched the vids, never wanted to join this more than now. If I can manage to get a good tow vehicle and car trailer for next year, I would probably get out in my 79 in this. I know it won't be too competitive in stock form, but I'm just out to have fun anyway. I'm just too far away to drive the car too and from the track I think. If I break anything, that would be a very expensive tow bill to get home lol.

Yes this is alot of fun and tons of track time. I plan on participating for the full events again next year. Already purchased a set of new race pads and looking for a set of tires and possible a race seat as I was bouncing around pretty bad hanging onto the steering wheel. Its all for fun. Hope to better my time. Funny thing my best time of the year was the first event second time out. I am blaming my 6 year old used race tires LOL

01racing.
Are you talking about the solo1 now time attack series or this venue.....? For me its cheaper to participate in the sigma then the solo1/time attack but have been considering the solo1/time attack because of the different tracks. I did one event this year with the solo1/time attack and there was plenty of track time in comparison to the 2006 events I went to...

If someone takes a picture of the repaired track surface or if this changes venues I'll sign up for the entire year's worth of events right now.

2012 project.... Who did what to prepare

So in anticipation of joining another year of Time Attack I have done the following:

-redline rear end oil change
-redline transmission oil change
-new rear rotors
-new EBC yellows around (Probable not the right choice)
-new arp extended studs all 4 wheels (EXPENSIVE!)
-one new bearing
-new sparco steering wheel
-new sparco pro2000 (And I can't fit in it with my helmet. May not install this without modification)

Whats left
-maybe new rear wing if I can manage to swing by and see a local used one
-race tires to be purchased
-ran stock boost last year as my electronic boost controller went. May just get manual....

So who else is sick in the head and spending to much time and money into a hobbie

Might just have to start a new 2012 Time Attack thread once sigma announces dates and hopefully tracks....

I have a set of ARP corvette wheel studs here that I'll never end up using on my FC. You should have said something! :P

In addition to what I was already going to do to my GTR I'm getting:

swaybars + full bushing kit (for what bushings are left that aren't already heim joints)
17x10 Cobra wheels
275/40/17 Hoosier A6 - Are these the right choice? I found a deal on some but I'm starting to wonder if they're a suitable lapping tire
Some sort of racing pads (I have hawk HP+ already but I think I want blues)
N1 water pump to make sure it stays happy at high RPM
Maybe some sort of harness bar to keep my back alive lapping.

Nice,

Buggy (among some of the other guys from last year) may join in a few Time Attacks this year. Will be nice to see that GTR in action. Last time was 2009 DGRR?

I was thinking about Hoosiers, Hankooks or BFG's. Will see whatever is locally available....

If he is local I could swing by and see it. Otherwise probable would prefer new as I hope to get a season out of the tires. Also not sure if I can fit 245's without rubbing everything. I have rolled fenders though.

Note: For years I never new how to multi quote. Now I see this little button on the side of the messages and bam. No more single replies. LOL!
