I have that day off and honestly it has to be my first saturday off in atleast a year. Will pay some gas money if you want me too ...

I guess everyone is enjoying the long weekend??

 

I may be the only one from London planning on attending, but I have not made any solid plans yet. I don't know when I will leave for the event, or when I will leave the event to go back home.

The website says the event starts at 11AM which means probably leaving London before 9AM (damn....). If you are looking for a ride then I have an open passenger seat. I can't promise a quality ride...there's no interior in the car.

 

Thats fine with me Aaron. I have nothing to do all that day so it doesn't matter what time we leave and get back at. Also Chris (Orion84gls) on this forum is leaving from london, if you want i can arrange for the both of us to leave together. He already has someone going with him in his car.

 

OK...I think then to be there at a reasonable time we must leave the city just before 9AM. So we'll say approx. 9:45 we would be heading out onto the road. I'll have the car packed up Friday night but on Saturday we'll need to stop for gas on the way out of the city.

Will you be meeting at my place or will I be picking you up? You can leave a car at my place if you wish and that's the most convenient (for me anyway ).

My intended route is just along highway 3 since the 401 takes you way too far North and you spend 30 minutes backtracking Southwest. Probably up Wellington to get some fuel, then to highway 3 just outside of St. Thomas. From there, straight through highway 3 until we arrive.

If Orion84gls would like to join us, more then merrier. However I'm not going to be racing/flying down as fast a humanly possible. The speed limit on highway 3 is 80/90 and that's about the speed at which I'll be travelling. It's far too stressful to do otherwise.

 

Would it be maybe be possible to meet you up in the keg parking lot at around like 9:15. The one off wellington road. You'll be driving down by there anyways correct? Other wise I'll have tp bus it down to your place and I'm not really sure where to get off. I can also try to get Chris to meet us at the keg too. Lilttle easier to find, so no delays. I'll call him up right now and post back what he says if he picks up.

BTW: Aaron since i've got my Innovate LM1 wideband ... you're more than welcome to use it on saturday if you want ... Not sure if you still have a laptop in the car or not, but I'll let you borrow it as a thanks you

I need something to follow on my grueling 6km journey from home/shop to dragway

I'm just east off HWY 3 in Nelles Corners (yes, there is a sign)..... But if you know where the Cayuga Speedway is (I know Aaron does ) then just turn right on that road instead of left and I'm 200 yards from HWY 3.

I'll be there all morning until I either have someone show up, or until I see a couple 7's go past - then I'm heading to the track.

Sounds like a plan. That works out since there's a Canadian Tire right down the street (I only buy Canadian Tire gas).

I'll be bringing my laptop just in case. My car is tuned to the point now for light load and cruise that I don't need to always have the laptop connected but I'm still bringing it for safety. Cold starts are a bit rough still. I actually have a wideband permanently installed in the car so I'm all set in that aspect.

We'll be passing straight through Aylmer so that will work out.

We'll probably be going by shortly before 11AM so I don't know if you want to wait. I'm quite aware of where Toronto Motorsports Park isn't, but still a bit unsure of where it actually is.

Well, the dragway (Toronto Motorsports Park) is just down my road where I've written "MOTM" on the map. To get there you'd either be passing my place directly, or passing by on HWY 3 and turning right on Kohler RD (un labelled on the map I posted) closer to Cayuga.

I'll be there all morning working actually, but ready to leave whenever. So there won't be much waiting on my part. Just stop in and we'll head over the dragway - I can show you the spit while you're here

I was actually going to say the same to you on saturday. Being a truck driver I can't risk getting tickets, as I can potentially lose my job. It's not supposed to effect my A licence rating but it does. Also can anyone tell me how hard it rained here the past few days? I got back into town to find my spare tire well full of water, and that has NEVER happened before, and I can't seem to find a place where it might be coming from.

 

It rainned pretty hard, check your hatch drain holes though. They might of gotten clogged up from that blueberry tree that you parked under.

 

I'll be leaving from London, too. If you don't mind, I will meet up with Aaron and the gang at the Keg on Wellington at 9:00 a.m.. I'll be the White '87 GXL that was at the Wortley Show two weeks ago. See you then...
