Yes, it was about 8 laps (including first lap and last lap). Funniest thing was that it was almost 30 minutes of track time.

Fastest lap I timed was a 2:19 and change and the pace car driver would have gone faster if the cars hadn't all started to string out a bit.

It was great fun for me to see the happy faces after the cars came off the track. A lot of the discussion was all animated and talking about tire noise, fading brakes, overheating engines, etc... Man, oh man it was fun listening to all of you. It took me back more years than I care to remember.

I strongly suggest that most of you use the CASC link that Jamie added to his reply and thank the CASC and especially BEMC and Bruce Mills (Organizer) Terry Dale (waiver guy) and Doug McKenzie (co-ordinator) for all of their help in pulling this off. A lot of work went into this behind the scenes and a number of people gave up their lunches to make it happen. It was the first time that this has been done during a race weekend with street cars and we didn't embarass ourselves.

If there is interest I will try to do this again next year, but next year I would like to see 30 cars on track.

Thumbs up

Huge thanks to 23Racer, BEMC, MMS and everyone involved.
This was a great opportunity to meet some interesting people and have some fun track time.

Remember to come out next weekend and support 23racer and all the mazda's that will be in the 3 hour enduro. There should be a few rx-7's and close to a dozen miata's and lots of other intersteing hardware.

Perhaps later in the year everyone can show up and camp for the weekend.

That sounded awesome. there were 8 rotary powered cars ripping up the track beside you at the DDT. We wanted to come over for the lapping but no time. I would not want to miss this opportunity again

Thank you even thought I did not make it.

Glad to see you all had fun, with the weather saturday I was really worried no one was going to show up. The following is a message from BEMC's pace car driver,

I visited the RX7 website that you told me about and see that the lads sound like they had a good time.at our lunch time lapping on Sunday at Mosport. If you can get ahold of the club or forward this e-mail, let them know that the pace car driver in the Jetta was very impressed with their driving and keeping the cars tightly packed -- they looked like pros. If the same group came out again, I would have no issue picking up the pace, that's how confident I was with this group. Everybody loves zooming up the back straight with no police radar at 120++, but if you ask the guys, I bet most will say that going through corner 2 was a highlight ( that was the only corner that I could get any space between the pace car and the Miata drafting me !!!!)
As we finished the last lap I pulled over in the paddock and let the cars go by. It was great to see so my big smiles --that's what it's all about !!

Bruce, thanks for organizing this event, it can do nothing but gain more interest to our sport !!

Well done by all !!!

Thanks again for coming, Bruce Mills BEMC Orginizer 2006

Ya, what do u have to do to post on the CASC site? I really wanna thank the guys that put last weeks event together for us. And big thanx to 23Racer for all his hard efforts getting everything organized.

And ya turn 2 was the scariest corner. My car has so much tilt, what with a shot 18 year old suspension and every time around I prayed I didn't mess up and ruin everything lol. Turn 4 was pretty scary too.

I don't know why it is difficult to join. It should be a simple click click. I will check today and get back to all of you. It may be that your joining the site may need to be officially approved.

Later...

Eric

Yeah, they take a couple of days to approve the registration to keep the board free of trolls and spammers.
