Usually in a game you get a nice Tokyo drift. Some how this was clearly ineffective in real life

That was clearly the best $20 I have ever spent in my life!

Thanks Al for setting this up.
No, its not a video game... Especially not at Mosport... That kind of thinking will lead you into a wall...

No doubt!

Even with the in car cams they don't seem to capture how fast you are truly going.

Wow, sounds like a crazy day compared to the run we did in May. I know I didn't hit those kinds of speed cause my NA just isn't capable, and there was always a pile up at the corners so I couldn't carry speed through. As long as no cars were trashed and everyone came out okay. All in good fun for charity eh....

the wird, im using some old DOT 4 crap i found on a shelf at work...probably a bad idea as i dont know how long it had been sitting there after being opened but it worked out okay every track day so long as i flushed them after. the pads are the stock pads and like i said they are getting pretty thin. im waiting on a friend to install some new hawk pads on his car so i can try his old EBC greens out.

I know mosport isnt known for being hard on brakes, but i was trying to keep really close to the guy infront of me and he was doing the same to whoever was infront of him...so braking was frequent and long rather than short jabs im used to at shannonville.

I didn't know what to expect since I had never been to an event like this but it was a blast. I thought we would be doing a 50km/hr cruise behind a pace car, was I ever wrong!

So here's my story.....

We are lined up to go out on the track and we are standing outside our cars. A small group of us are talking and one guy says the last time he was here there was an 8 car pile up so that's why he's at the back of the pack. Good idea I said. Its a long walk home with my family! The guy goes on to say there is a few blind turns and you need to know the lines. Ummm this is not what I thought we were doing lol.

So we head out and I'm staying way back from the guy in front of me. No way do I want to get piled up! I can't believe how fast people are given it!!!

So we make a few turns and I see one of the RX8 pulling off to the side with a ton of smoke coming out of the hood. Apparently it blew up!!!

Feeling a bit more comfortable I start to increase the speed a bit (bad idea I still have no idea where I'm going lol ). I thought I had "the line" but I clearly didn't cuz my two right tires went a bit off the track. Just enough to get my tires in the grass

On I go.... I can see I can close the distance on the straights with the car in front of me which I am happy with considering my car is not tuned and I don't really have a secondary ( I had to keep pushing in my clutch to get the revs below 3000 so it would transition again ). That should be resolved when I get my BNRs and new solenoids.

On we go. Continue to close the gap ( it was damn huge when I started out cuz I didn't want to get hit!). Rounding another turned just in time to see an RX8 spinning out!!

The lead car pulls us all off to tell us that we need to stay closer together ( no chance!!). I didn't go back out after the speach cuz I ran out of meth and I don't want to blow up like the RX8 did.

Great time, I only wish I had better tires, suspension, secondary turbo, and knew what I was doing lol.
Hey Double J
That was me that was talking to you in the red Rx-8. The guy in the silver one that spun was directly in front of me and didn't know the line around 5a and 5b (hairpin) & had his stability control off.
Did you at least go for a ride in someone elses car on the 2nd time out?

Really Lame RX7 Turnout Guys.........

I absolutely love reading these posts. It is always great fun talking to people after they have quick lapped at Mosport. Mosport is considered one of the most difficult tracks in North America. If you can go fast there, you can go fast anywhere.

Now you guys should try racing there. I will put up a race report this morning about my weekend. Decent for the first time out with the new setup and actually finishing all the races for the first time since 2006!!!!!!

No I didn't go out with anyone else the second time. I would have loved to because I am sure I could have learned lots.

I think the order of the people will never ever be sorted out properly.. this situations are bound to happen when you mix up different skills/experience level of drivers together and a "no-passing" scenario is allowed.
