mmm...new Porsche GT3
not only is there a new Porsche 911 Turbo out, but there is a new GT3 as well.
check it out here:
http://www.porsche.com/all/originmotorsport/canada.aspx
what a sexy colour too
yeah it might have less power than it's turbocharged counterparts, but i'd still take it over them...

Oh wow!!! In white!!!
I have a huge erection now. 415 HP NA, that is quite the added power!!
I agree Aason, the GT3 is my favorite Porsche. Although it seems like they have added electronics, which the previous model didn't have...

love the braaaap
What a beautiful car. Defiantely one of my favorites. I haven't heard one, but I've heard the Le-Mans 911's at mosport and some classic porsches with the flat 6 engine and the sounds is orgasmic. I just love the sound.

Still looks like an egg... Yes, I have respect for the marque, but it'll never be as magical as a Ferrari!
Only 1 Porsche I would want to own and that's the Carrera GT!! Even at that price range, I would take the Ferrari F50 over anything else.
Or better yet, the new Pagani Zonda F!!!

I thought the new Carrera S was a nice drive. That new 3.8L Really Sings. I almost prefer it over the Turbo. Something about that AWD that desensitizes the experience.
Porcshe is also working on a "Lag-less" Turbocharger. Think that sounds pretty self explanatory. After all, they are the Turbo Pioneers. The 1975 911 Turbo was the first production car ever to have a Turbocharged engine.

Man, even my FC can beat your Red X's.
Just because I like the current generation of Corvette, doesn't make me some redneck imbecile that doesn't appreciate car technology. Porsche makes some pretty fine cars.
And either way, why are you suddenly comparing supercars to the GT3? Last I checked, the GT3 is a car that even a big talking, but more regular joe like you just might be able to afford, maybe, with some luck. Unlike the Supercars.

Last I checked, Porsche was considered a "supercar" maker... The GT3 is very much a "supercar"!
Like I said, if I had the money to afford a GT3 I would never buy one... never liked their shape and probably never will...
Give me the Ferrari anyday!!!

There's nothing really magical about Ferrari; Porsche has had just as much racing success (if not more). German engineering will always be superior

Porsche is a drivers car. It was built for the driver. You get in a porsche and its just simply a better driving car than any other 'Supercar' out there. I mean, my boss drives his 911 Turbo everyday of the year. Goes and gets groceries with it, does everything I do in my moms oldsmobile, only better and twice as fast. Top speed is over 200MPH and handling is on par with most track day cars. Price comes in at 1/4 Million. Start with a Carrera and you still get all the ingredients for the most fantastic sports car ever.
Porsche (Mainly 911) is just simply the greatest sports car ever made. Nothing much has changed since that warm day in 1964 when the first 911 was introduced. Some argue its 'greatness'. I embrace it. Brst bang for buck supercar out there. AND you dont have to be asked by the manufacturer to spend a REDICULOUS amount on it. Cmon, I honestly dont see the big deal with the Enzo. I won a contest and got a ride shotgun in one. Whats the deal? Its like a barebones car made straight up for speed. $1,500,000 for that? I can buy an Ariel Atom 2 and have twice as much fun for $80,000.
But comparing Porsche to Ferrari is like Comparing Apples to Oranges.

Mr. Eccentric,
Hmm, I doubt you can compare an Aston Martin Vantage to the 911 GT3... different animal altogether.
But between the 2, I would take the Aston for those days where it's nice and you just want to cruise. And the 911 for those days where you want to tear up the roads.
Alak,
Getting a ride in an Enzo is a once in a life time oppertunity!! To simply brush it off is a bit inconsiderate and disrespectful to the marque.
And since you're dealing with "supercars", you really don't need to be comparing prices between other cars.... Come on, the Ariel Atom?!?! Freakin thing is an oversized go-kart!! I would like to see you get caught in the rain in one of those!
Porsche's will always be cars for middleaged bolding men!! Enough said!
nik,
Are you on crack or something?!?! LOL!
Remember the quote by Jeremy Clarkson... "The Porsche is a jumped up Beetle!" Truer words have never been spoken!!!
Viva Ferrari!!!!

I think the FD looks better than any of those Ferraris and the Aston Martin. There is no doubt that the Ferraris are built with the most advanced technology available, but the aesthetic design is lacking these days (and has been for a little while now). If I were given a hideous modern Ferrari like that, I would sell it, and buy a Porsche(or two).
Now that Ferrari's F1 domination appears to have come to an end, there is no more Ferrari magic(although a good chunk of their success should justly be attributed to their German driver).

...and their British Technical Director, Ross Brawn.
...and their South African Designer, Rory Byrne.
And, since we are sort of on the topic of F1, Porsche pretty much ruled the turbo era in F1, with 3 drivers titles (2x Prost, 1x Lauda) and 2 constructors titles with the McLaren-TAG cars between 1984 and 1986...
The ugliest modern Ferrari, to date, is the 612 Scagletti. They should be ashamed of that car.

I hate the design of most of those supercars, besides the porsches. They look like ***, simply put. Sure, they look special, but the design doesn't really work for me. On the other hand, porsche came up with a look, and stuck to it. As a matter of fact, I don't really like any of the newer cars, save a few. GM and Mazda have the nicest looking cars right now IMO. Chrysler isn't too far behind, but some other manufacturers... I don't know. The new civic reminds me of a certain 1991 Chevy lumina APV, Nissan's cars are just fugly, mistu has wrecked their image with the new eclipse, and toyota is just blah, boring. Some of the ugliest cars I have ever seen are coming from BMW and Honda, and things don't look like there going to get any better.

the GT3 retails at $103k USD. for the performance and car you get, i don't think Ferrari can compare. not knocking Ferraris though, they are amazing cars. it's just you pay a high premium for the name.
oh, and i would take a Porsche or Ferrari over a Lambo anyday. yeah sure, they are pretty sick cars but i could never see myself driving one. too flashy for me, lol.
in either case this thread is bonerific! lol.

The GTO was the first of Ferrari's "supercar" lineup... After this puppy came the F40...
I'd take the F40 over the GTO... looks too much like the regular "Magnum P.I." Ferrari...
And that FD is crazy wide!! Way too much bling!! It's a bit over done for what it use to look like...
The Baby Aston doesn't look all that great in person... Sure it's nice, but you can tell they held back... Especially when it comes to the interior.
It's too bad it's not like the DB9! Or even the new DB9 Rapide!!!
But to have an F50!!! Oh man...
