I will be there. If it does not conflict with solo1.

Also I will see from the "wife" if I can get the ottawa or east side people can stay at my place before we head up. (But maybe there is no need since if its in the afternoon-ish there should be plenty of time for people to head up?)

WHoo hoo. Party @ IAN's!

Neo: Is there any set plan, with advertisment and stuff? Something akin to what the Mazda3 club has posters/flyer's @ Avante. I was thinking if you wanted I could see if the guys at Downtown Mazda would be up to posting some flyers for a while if possible.

Heck, I could use a random excuse to drive to Toronto in beautiful August weather. This is as good a reason as any for a road trip!

Barring meteors, brain explosions or other unexpected events, count me in

No problem Neo. If nothing odd or anything else doesn't take place that day (that Is of course to be more significant) I will be more than pleased to be there. I've gotta start being more attentive to these meets.

What happens if we don't get there by 10 am? I will be taking my 7 this time (not the Matrix or kids to help tear down a motor) and I want to be sure that I'll get to park with the other sevens. How do we purchase tickets?

Bass,
Well, you got to make sure you get your *** down before 10am now, don't you?!

Tickets are "bought" when you arrive...

So you better get your *** down there before 10am!!

Lates,
noonish eh?

You know I'll be there. What I was wondering was if I get there late due to mechanical problems. You may recall that at the last GTA meet both Joe's and Kevin's cars suffered mechanical problems that delayed us a little. I just want to make sure that I can still get in and parked. It's not exactly next door. And I don't think that they'll be finished the 410 expansion by that point.

Yeah with that 410 expansion, GTA meets will be within reason driving time for sure. I should be in for this, but my moms b-day is on the the Monday. We'll have to see, but i don't foresee a problem, unless my car says otherwise again.

Its unfortunate your doing this on a first come first served basis. If tickets were bought before hand then you could close the gates when sold out, That way you know when the lot will be full. BUT how can you turn people away at the gate when they have driven a distance from somwhere with them not knowing if its full or not. lets say we have 25 7's and 8's in atttendence, this only leaves 95 spots open for all the other clubs, and i can bet that there will be more then that attending!!

Oh we're not turning anyone away... far from it... there will be spots available for everyone who is coming out... we're just trying to keep to a certain schedule.
No need to panic over not enough spaces... it's just for the people who want to be located closer to the action...

Thanks,

Any comments, suggestions are welcome. Details are not finalized so any feedback is welcome. We are looking into getting the lot next door available to us.

I was hoping that we were going to have the same set-up as last year: cars are grouped as to model and years with the arrival time between 11 and 12. It's good for photos, comparisons, and allowing people to talk with the other owners etc...plus those from a distance won't have to leave so early.

I would suggest that we go with buying tickets ahead of time and using that to 'reserve' a parking space in the 'area' of that model/year of vehicle.

Mazdabation clearly has a point that under the present proposal, those who are driving at a distance are at a clear disadvantage.

Neo, you've mentioned a schedule...what is it?

Sounds like this will be a good turn out. Hopefully I can get the motor in my TII by then, If not I will show up in the 87 GXL, just have to finish the exhaust on it. All esle fails I have the MX3, but count me in I have made sure I will be free that day.

IF you are trying to attract more out-of-towners, then maybe a few concessions for those people would be cool. Not, get there by 10 am or else...

Well when everything is GTA based, a few out of towners seem to be really unimportant. Maybe thats just how I see things. Like having things to accomodate people travelling a distance, we seem to be more of a burden then anything else.

Everytime we show up, people seem suprised that "you drove all this way, just for a meet". Of course where else are we going to get together with other RX people.
