Talking Mazda Race Parts Sale

Don't think that this should go in the For Sale area. Just want to let everyone know about the e-mail I just received from Mazda Motorsports. I am not receiving any compensation for this.

Competition Parts Sale
All competition parts are now on sale for 10% off the regular (racer)
price.
This sale includes only competition parts (no stock Mazda parts will be
discounted). To receive the discount, all orders must be received by 12:00pm
(PT) on Friday, March 30th.
If you place an order online at our website the discounted price will not
appear. Your discount will be applied when your order is processed. Also, if
you have both stock and competition parts in your order you may receive two
separate shipments.

If you haven't joined up, join and get your race parts at very good prices from a source you can trust. If you are a member place your orders now!!!!

Just need to go over the list of stuff I still need and place an order.

Eric

(I spend way to much time thinking about racing, I need a life)

Just a note about Mazdaspeed Motorsport Developement. You MUST participate in sanctioned racing to join. You MUST have results and pictures of the car to send them BEFORE they will sell you any parts. If you are building a car, you MUST supply them with the series and pics etc for them to let you join. (I speak from experience, I joined in 2005 and didnt send them results, they cancelled me Jan 1, 2006 until I submitted my results.)

actually, you can order parts prior to racing in 2 events. they consider prepping for next yr's events okey dokey. however, you will need to submit results afterwards.

1 autox and 1 drag is good enough for them

Just to let you guys know.

I just placed an order for parts just under 1K USD. They decided to ship it via UPS this time. Part 1 came from one of their east coast warehouses. The UPS driver charged me taxes.

I got a call from UPS brokerage houses this morning asking if they wanted me to use them to clear my package. I politely declined and informed them that Mazda North American Operations had already arranged for the package to be cleared using their own brokerage house. They said they will inspect the box, and then found the forms to call the brokerage house that cleared the parts. They said they would have the shipment delivered by this afternoon.

The 2nd box finally came, which was the bulk of the 1k (about 800 USD worth of parts). I got dinged again for taxes. WTF?!?!?

The odd thing is I've been using mazdaspeed USA for about 4 years now. They used Fedex before, and I was never charged a single cent for brokerage, duties, taxes... nothing! I was never asked for anything when the parts arrived. Now what has changed?

I don't understand... was Fedex suppose to charge me but never did? Did Mazda absorb these cost which are not being transfered to me?

UPS charges always end up being the highest. They often try and charge 75-80 dollars just to do the customs work to clear a package of that value.

Yeah, couldn't you just get a friend who has an account to order a part or two for you?

no you cannot, well maybe the frequent use parts... but for certain parts they would really start to wonder why you are ordering 2-3 of a part that should never need to be replaced.

Then you lose your priveledges.

I do not see what the big deal is about joing though, it is free and you only have to compete 2 times in official races in 1 year.

I believe that is called abusing the system. It is also another reason why good things always comes to a crashing holt. People like you with your mindset is what makes generous people (like Mazda in this case) decide it's not worth it and ruin it for everyone.

Case in point. I remember back in the day of Pembroke Mazda. We (a select few) were getting parts at dealer cost because the manager there liked rx7s. Which was awesome for rx7 drivers. Then someone told the forum that if you mention you were part of the rx7 club you could get it at cost. Which was fine... Till the couple of ******** who decided to order parts and not pick them up or return the parts. Guess what... the dealership now takes a loss at something they were not making money on. Then you know what happened next? The dealership told us to Fuc off because they didn't want to be stuck with parts they will never sell to anyone else.

I'm surprised 23racer even bothered to post here about the mazdacomp sale. I got the email too. There are too many dead beats out there ruining good things for good people.

You have to apply. Read the terms carefully. Everyone, please don't waste their time if you are not serious about being able to fufill the commitment to them.

Yes. Because of a few or many TOOLS I lost my discount. Its pathetic. They order a part or parts. Then "these" people find a non OEM part copy for $5 less they decide to return the item or did not pick it up! Not to mention all the time they had to spend on price quotes. Seriously.
