Looking for someone in Kitchener, Ont to help me with my car
So, its time to get my beast on the road. Its an 82 with a streetported 12a.
I have some work that needs to be done to it, and don't have the tools, or all the know how to do it myself. I am on a budget but I'm hoping someone out there might be able to help me out.
I need to do the following work to it
Install TII oil cooler
Replace windshield
New O rings on the intake (leaking)
Make the horn work
Exhaust work (its complete but way too loud. want to add a magnaflow)
Paint
I am pretty sure I have a guy lined up to paint it, but im open to any suggestions. My budget for all of this is around $1500 including a spray job.
Anyone out there who knows what they are doing and wants to make a little money on the side, let me know.
Here is some pics

Thanks! Glad to be back!
Which car were you thinking of buying? the yellow one? or my current one?
Anyways guys, I thought a windshield would cost a lot more than what I found out. Some place called "tri city auto glass" can do it for $220 installed.
As far as 2nd gen parts, i don't need anything. I already have the TII oil cooler, although I do need lines for it.
I think I can get this done with my $1500 budget. Just gotta be smart about it.
I have replaced O rings on the intake before, so I could do that myself, the problem is I don't have tools anymore.
I also need to upgrade the fuel pump to power the weber, but that shouldn't be too difficult. Seems pretty straight forward.
Hope to have all this done in the next month or so. Man am I ever looking forward to cruising around in an fb again!!!

I think that Buggy may have some stainless steel line laying around. You should give him a shout. I got my fittings from Jeggs. They're quick and cheap. Plus they still swivel when tightened down, unlike the RB version. About the o-rings, does your intake runner have coolant passages?

not sure about the coolant passages. and hey, since we have pretty much the same setup, is there any chance you could let me know what it is i need to order to install this oil cooler?
Also, I don't think I've ever seen your car. I would love to see pics of it. Is it on the road?

Oil cooler install is pretty simple. Get some exhaust clamps to fit the round front chassis brace, and some angle iron or something to mount the oil cooler to the exhaust clamps. Done! Just have to get a little creative. I did this on my Rx-4 and Bass did the same thing on his car.

I mounted my front mount oil cooler to the tie down hooks using the bolts that are already in place there and two pieces of 3 inch angle iron as mounts. I bent the mounting tabs on the oil cooler over 180* and drilled holes in the angle iron. The only real issue is the cross tube is in the way so I had to use a few 45* AN fittings, but I think I have space to lower it and get rid of those extra fittings, which I plan to do this year. If you go to the bottom of page 7 on my cardomain page linked in my sig you can kind of see how I did it.
You can use two 20mm freeze plugs to plug the intake manifold coolant passages in the block. They are not necessary for anything other than helping the engine warm up a bit faster by heating the intake charge a bit. A little JB Weld to keep them in place and your golden.

Au contraire!
Your **** hit the fan on the backroads before we even made it to Paisley. Paisley is where things got comical. Just outside of Chesley is where things went into a downward spiral as we struggled to get all the sevens back onto the road leading into town.

I haven't found anyone yet...i was thinking i'd take the money that I would pay someone to do the work, wait for a good deal on some tools are crappy tire, and do it myself (with the help of this site of course).
I just figured R.P.M. is busy with his new job and everything.
I will message him and see what he says.
Thanks for all the help guys
