Lapping on an Oval

Hi everyone, we went out yesterday and spent 5 hours driving around in circles on a 3/8 mile oval to break in our new engine. Everything went fine and the engine is great. When your driving around a 3/8 mile oval with short straights and banked corners, the G-Forces make your brain come up with amazing ideas!
I want to know if anyone would be interested in doing a "time attack" style event ( 1 warm up lap, 3 hot laps and one cool down lap on an oval? It is not near as easy as it would seem to drive on a short banked oval. It was a blast bombing around that track, and the owner said he would let me hold an event there if I wanted to. The track is called Sunset Speedway in Stroud Ontario. I would need about 40 cars at a entry fee of $20.00 per car. The event would be held on a Sunday in June. Let me know if yo have any interest!

Well guys, what I need is 30 people to financially commit $20.00 and I will book the track and take the rest of the risk. We would not run in the rain, and the track owner will give us a rain date. The 1st event would be run the old fashioned way, no classes just run what ya brung for fun! We would use a stop watch for timing. If it is a success and we want to do more, I would get proper timing equipment etc.

It is about 10 minutes north of Bradford right on HWY 11. For those who are really serious get in touch with me so we can get it going. Between this site and CASC about 10 people have said their in. I am not going to front all the money to rent the track myself, so if some people will prepay the $20.00 to show intent, I will go ahead and book it and take the balance of the risk myself.

Okay everyone the track is booked! I have booked Sunst Speedway for May 28, 2006. I will post a contact number once an entry form has been made. Because this is a 1st time event, we have limited entries to the 1st 50 entry forms received with $20.00 payment. This event is open to all closed wheel vehicles, race cars included. Sunset Speedways insurance states that a snell M or SA 2000 rated helmet must be worn when on the track, No exceptions will be made to this rule.
Sunset is going to post the event at the track so we will also have some stock cars drivers attend! This should be a fun event, hope to hear from all who are interested!

I'm in if my car's ready as well. Should be. Joe, it's 10 minutes from my place on the way to Bradford.
