Just had a road rage incident with a Cop
I was driving an ML350. I got on the 401 westbound collector lanes from Allen. I was just minding my own business traveling with the flow of traffic.
I see out of the corner of my left eye a Police Mini-van in the far left lane. The van is moving over lanes with out signaling towards my lane. I have that thought in my head I hope this guy sees me as the van was moving quickly and directly towards my vehicle. He crosses over two lanes and is about to enter mine. So just as I expected dumb cop gets startled when I accelerate to avoid a collision. He had clearly not noticed me.
He then floors it and comes alongside me on the driver's side.
He motions me to wind down my window.
I bring the window down and he yells at me "SLOW DOWN"!
I raise my arms in a what in gods name are you talking about.
He then yells "you were driving 125"
I yell back "so"
He yells "do you want a ticket?"
I yelled back "do you want me to pull over?"
He repeats "do you want a ticket?"
I repeat "do you want me to pull over?"
He then closes his window after flapping his arms at me.
He gets in front of me and drives 100.
I go around him and continue on my way. He follows me for a little while but I took 400 north and he took black creek south.
It boggles my mind that a cop would think it is a good idea to engage a motorist in a conversation while driving at highway speeds. The traffic behind us must have been wondering what the hell was going on.
And before someone says I should have slowed down to let him in, it was not an option. I had a car to my right and rear. He should have been paying attention and signaled his intentions.
Anyhow just another day on the 400 series.

Actually I know for a fact you should not have slowed down. What you did was correct. If you hit your brakes you cause the domino effect of every idiot within eyesight hammering theirs, possibly causing an accident. Masses of people are Panicky Pete's and that's just how they drive. By speeding up you gave him room to come in behind you without making anyone else slow down. On top of that it is not your responsibility to let anyone into your lane. It's polite, but not your job. It is the responsibility of anyone entering a lane, be it merging from an on ramp, changing lanes to pass or manouver towards an off ramp to adjust to the traffic already in the lane. My recommendation would have been to leave your window up and ignore him unless he signaled you to pull over. If asked why you ignored him you could just easily mention the dangers of engaging in a high speed conversation between two vehicles.
I would have loved to hear the details of your roadside dialogue with him; of course that's an option you only wish you had the time to entertain. Until then, we have to agree with your chalking it up to just another day on the 400 series. Good attitude on your part and it goes to show that you can throw a uniform on just about anyone.
