Just a Great Weekend

Sometimes, things just work out perfectly.

Saturday, up early and went to CTMP to watch World Challenge and Canadian Touring Car Championship races. NASCAR Canada was there as well. WC GT cars were super fast, super impressive. NASCAR Canada, sounded great, but were only a few seconds a lap faster than the fastest CTCC cars. Nothing negative towards the NASCAR cars or drivers, but mucho props to the guys in the CTCC. Freak they are peddling those cars super well and committed. Best thing were all the rotaries kicking butt in WC and in the CTCC loved the scream when it was mixed in with the rumbles.

Sunday, got the back lawn cut, did a shwack (official gardening word) of yard work, opened the pool, spent ages clearing leaves out of it. Ended the day tired but feeling good.

Holiday Monday, started out by fixing the solar panels on the roof, did some planting, cut the front lawn, set up the new garbage area (racoons could just disappear from this earth and I wouldn't care), planted some perennials..... then I rolled the pigs out of the garage and went to work messing about with them to get them ready for the 31st. Washed the RX7, performed a bolt check underhood and found out that my fan had been knocked out of its mounts and was only being held in by 1 and a 1/2 bolts... Tied up some wires that were flapping around, readjusted the throttle linkage to get a better idle, stared at the form for my new front splitter trying to decide if I wanted to try to mould it and decided to pass on it as I need to put new fuel pumps in the Jag and I wouldn't have time to do both next weekend. So I just fired it up, I love how easy the thing works now and backed it away. All ready for the next race. The Cougar only came out so I could look at it and it gave me an excuse to fire it up again, LOL. The car has been re-graphiced (I know that's not a word, but you guys understand) to reflect new supporters. See th picture below.

Ended up the day starting to watch the X Files series all over again. All in all a great weekend of cars, sun and getting things done. I feel like I am fully in summer mode now.

Eric

Glad you enjoyed our show Eric. I was babysitting Scuderia Corsa (3 x Ferrari 458) and the Black Swan Team ( 3 x AMG SLS GT) in pit lane. Would have been happy to add you to my guest list. Oh and we DNF'd in the Saturday CTCC race but finished 3rd Sunday. On to Indianapolis then Detroit.

Glad to hear you had a good weekend!

Could've been in the VIP section (right by turn 1, if it hasn't moved since 2012) all weekend but had other stuff come up last minute

Thanks for the offer, but I was with the CTCC guys as we were working out how the Cougars were going to be classed and spec d then we walked everywhere taking pictures and hanging out with everyone from guys I know from Georgia, Mr PD Cunningham and my team mates. It was a perfect day as it was. Just like you I probably have spent more time in pit lanes than I should....

Sounds like a great weekend. I had a lot more yard work (hauling mulch, laying sod etc) but on the Monday I got so spend some time at AMP standing around anxiously as my wife did the ARMS Time Attack School. (She is now more licensed than I am after a bit of time off.)
They had a full complement of 30 students and a relatively incident free day.
AMP is hosting the ASN Canada Time Attack nationals this September, which really seems to be giving a boost to the local participation if this school is an example.
