Just another common request
Hey guys
So me like so many other people that own an FD have been for sometime looking for 99 spec parts more specifically the bumper and rebar. I've been cruising the classifieds for sometime now and haven't seen one come up since I've had the money. So I put forth this question to my fellow Canadian FD owners does anyone know where I could pick one up in or around the GTA?
I know that the reputable corked sports have a complete assembly which I've been looking at but, I'd like to stay away from shipping across the boarder and getting for lack of a better word raped by customs.
Ultimately I know this is likely inevitable but I figure there was no harm in asking the Canadian community.
Thanks again
Ryan

Find a shipping depot that receives just across the border and have your US stuff shipped there. I had a Whiteline antisway on order from Himni (they ended up not having it, but another story), along with a few smaller items, and shipping and brokerage would have almost doubled the order shipped to Calgary - shipped to Sweet Grass Montana, a three hour drive from me, shaved a couple hundred off the shipping - easily worth $60 in gas for me, and an excuse for a road trip. These places certainly must exist near Ontario border crossings, if they do in tiny Montana towns to serve a much smaller, further from the border Alberta population.

I selected a UPS Store in Port Huron, Michigan; across the bridge from Sarnia, ON. They do it all the time. They gave me instructions how to label the package, so they know how to handle it when it arrives there. There is a $10 handling service fee. Then when I instruct the seller where to ship it, I ask for a courier tracking number, so I know when it arrives. I then call the UPS store again, to verify they really have the package. I go pick it up, the next weekend. If I don't pick it up in two weeks, the UPS store charges an extra storage fee.
You may want to choose someplace in Buffalo, NY. And think of a creative excuse to cross the border for a few hours. It will save on the Brokerage fee, but you can't tuck a bumper under the seat.

Maybe a trip to Buffalo is in order if I have it shipped to a company. Who knows maybe go take in a hockey game and make a full day out of it.

I did a quick search online a month ago and the Series 8 front bumper and rear spoiler seemed to be about $100–$150 each on US sites. I think that's a reasonable price and you're going to have to eat customs and tax cost at some point. Of course, the added costs will be painting and installation – I didn't know about the re-bar, for example.
