but either way, yes definitely money laundering, likely weapons (its even russian based) or drugs. jewellery- yes can be extremely highly priced, price range suitable. I have experience with online sales, and no, online companies don't work this way. and by using weatern union to send money, its hard to trace and no way to take it back.

Although Its already been established thats this isnt a good idea, i figured I would share a letter my bank sent out concerning this type of stuff incase anybody else runs into it.

This is from the Royal Bank by the way.

We have become aware of fraudulent job offers, promising lucrative opportunities, being made to both RBC Royal Bank customers and non-customers. Unfortunately, not all employment advertisements are legitimate and clients should be aware of a recent type of job scam, known as payment-forwarding or payment transfer scams.

How it works:

The employer, typically based in a foreign country, poses as a legitimate company looking on job recruitment websites for an agent to represent the company in Canada. The job is to accept payments from Canadian customers on behalf of the foreign company and then transfer a portion of the proceeds offshore. The employer indicates that a key qualification for the position is that employees must be online banking customers, able to receive funds electronically.

Tips to protect yourself:

Offers of easy money are often too good to be true.

Web-based job recruitment efforts that require you to move funds outside Canada could be a front for an illegal operation. While the opportunity may look appealing, the job could be a scam, and a criminal offence.

Do not provide confidential and financial information over the Internet in response to unsolicited requests.
