JDM FD parts car

I was currious to know if anyone in the GHA and GTA has, will be or wants to bring over a front clip of a FD? I am in need of a tranny and figured others may need something to (motor, interior etc).

If you know of one already here let me know, if your interested in somehow splitting the costs of one, post here......

I wanted one (and still do) - but they're just as expensive as whole friggin cars.

I'm interested in a bunch of misc. small stuff off the clip, plastics and rubber. And a stock airbox.

Are they really that much? i figured it would be in the couple grand mark, but with someone else wanting the motor and other importsnt parts it would take the grunt of the payout.

PS i have an air box i think, but it has broken tabs if i recall

If your talking about a REAL '99 spec car to part.........I would like the rims. But they would have to be in perfect shape.

We could make this happen... we bring in cars all the time from Japan... a parts car is no different... Let me know if you're interested... Parts are too hard to find for FD's in Canada... LOL!

what would the $$ be on a parts car inc a tranny (what i need)?

If we can't get enough guys to split the cost on one of these, is it possible for you guys to get me just a tranny from a 2001 FD??

If you are looking for a 92 FD with engine problems and a couple of other issues you can usually get them for around 2500+shipping. So probubly around $4,500 once everything is said and done. Maybe a little more

I'd buy every $4500 FD I can get my hands on!

I've bought 2 at/near that price and both of them were definatly worth every penny.

Tiger said they wanted $5500 for a front clip, and they just sold a whole (non-running but clean) FD for $6000, sooo....

send me a PM if I can import an FD (no need to title it for the road right if it's a parts car) for $2500ish purchase price + shipping, lets set this up. I'm sure other people need as many or more parts than me, mazdabation can have dibs on the tranny :P

Ok, let me work on getting one...

I won't be bringing in a junker... I will bring in a mint running one... I have two options...

1) A newer 95-99 model with low kilometers... JDM Type R or Bathurst Edition maybe?

2) 1992 FD3S Type R

Whatever you guys prefer...

well, bring in a mint running one, I don't care as long as it costs $2500 to buy plus shipping.

I have no prefrence on year.

You won't get a mint running one for that price. That price is most likely for a car that isn't running and needs engine work. Also it probubly won't have the best interior. Your best bet would be to get a 99' car if possible since you would have alot more interest for the body parts and whatnot.

yeah, that's kinda what I figured.

Are there (and there probably are) '99+ "parts cars" available?

I'd buy one of those! But like I said above, I don't want to spend more than say, $4k on a parts car. Much more than that and we're pushing how much I have into my non-parts FD! lol.

I was looking more into a front clip/parts car. this way the bumper, interior, motor, tranny, doors etc can be used up. A whole car would be way to much $$ and defeat the purpose of getting a deal on parts.

Also if this did happen it would have to be a 99 up car. parts are more sought after and it has the upgraded tranny

I'm looking to acquire everything I to convert to a 99 spec.
So if someone could import the whole car.
I would take the following:
-Bumper skin
-Signal
-Lip
-Undertray
-oil cooler ducts
-rebar
-sidemarkers
-Fogs
-Upper and lower control arms pending their condition
even the tail lights and the RZ spoiler

let do this, as I'm ready.

The only problem with bringing in a front clip is that you can rarely rely on the body panels on that clip not requiring body work. 90% of the clips I have looked at had dented hoods, fenders, bumpers etc. I think they ship them stacked on top of each other 3 clips high. You have to really find a reputable importer to get them to care for the clip from Japan to here.
