Insurance

Hi,

Just wondering about insurance rates for those of you who don't have a clean record. I have 2 minor tickets and 1 partial at fault accident and I'm having trouble getting coverage. Just wondering how your insurance companies' policy's are and what your rates are.
Any advice would help. Thanks.

Where do you live? I pay $2,800 /year with belairdirect with a clean record and I'm 21. I live in Toronto which affects the price.

Yeah forsure, in Saskatoon, SK, I am quoted 1200 for 12 months of insurance, and thats on a clean record(not even into the bonus points). Not too high, but high in my province, going to argue with SGI to try to get afew more hundred off cause I have back seats(yay JDM) and according to the way the price insurance, seating plays a factor wish me luck!

hey, well for me it costs 1200 a year in saskatchewan and I have 7 or 8 tickets on my driving record. I think im at minus 11. So tickets dont seem to play a big factor in saskatchewan.

damn insurance is cheap for you guys. i pay around 550 for my 2006 pilot and my 93 rx7 a month and they still wanna cancel my *** (my wife the primary driver). i know people with worst driving record and they still get quoted less then i do. hhmmm, i gues they don't like me too much. i mean the accident i got into was in a parkin lot so we were both at fault, with 1 under 10 speedin ticket and one drivin in the diamond lane ticket. i don't think that my record is that bad.

I'm only covered for one way liability on my RX but it's my first year driving and my insurance is only $220 / year. Once all my work is done over this winter I'll be getting my 85 GS appraised so I can get fire and theft insurance.

I pay $64 a month for my RX-7, $1,000,000 PLPD, Collision $500 deduct, and $200 deduct comprehensive. It drops to like $15 a month when stored for the winter (now). I'm with Canadian Direct. We have 3 cars insured, so we get a multi-car discount, and the 7 is insured for pleasure/ <5000km/yr driving.

ya im with state farm, and i pay $1800 approximately a year, i'm 23, and i've definitely had my share of tickets.

although, i don't think tickets affect my rates very much, because i've gotten a few for running stop signs, a few for speeding, one for an improper lane change (although dropped now). and of course the stupid ones for not having the sticker on the license plate, i always forget that, and after all those i've never been called or seen any increase in my rates. mind you, i tend to spread all my tickets out so that helps.

plus most tickets and points get taken off your record after 3 years, from what i've read and been told, and seen on MY record.

Points stay on your record for 3 years but your insurance keeps its own record for 5 years.
