importing a car from US. questions for those that have done it. SED form.

hi
im trying to import an rx7 into canada from the states. planning on picking it up and trailering it over.
Right now im trying to figure out how to fill out the SED paper. I cant figure out what they want with the carrier codes, shipment reference number, bond codes, etc.
Its all very confusing.
Has anyone done this before? Got a filled out form for a used vehicle they could send me as an example (with personal information blocked out of course)

Thanks

hello

I just brought one over July 15th into Quebec. I assume Ontario the same or very close to the way it's done. The forms were all filled out by customs. All I did was pay the fees and taxes.
First off what year is it? You would be exempt from the RIV regulations if it a 93 and some 94's. As long as the date of manufacturer is 15 years plus. That means no 190 fee and no need for bumper or daylight mode or that Canadian Tire inspection. You will need to pay the GST, 100$AC Tax, and a small customs fee at time of entry based on the purchase price.
I'm Que, the original tittle and two copies of it plus a copy of the bill of sale had to be at the Home Land Sec office on the US side at least 72 hours before the car can cross. At entry you stop there and pick the tittle which they match to the car. Once they clad you (no fees, just a visual inspection) you head off with your tittle and car to customs. There you present the tittle and bill of sale plus doc thta Home Land gave you. That's where you pay all the fees and taxes I mentioned plus a 6.5% duty charge. That's where you get the Form1 that you need to register/plate the car.
All this assuming you are talking about a functioning non rebuilt FD.

It seemed more complicated than it is. Again, aside from sending copies plus tittle to the boarder 72 hours ahead they did the rest.

You can call Home Land Security at the boarder you plan on crossing and they will help. They did for me.

Hope this helps.
