that video is getting very popular...probably the 6th time i have seen it posted somewhere on the internet.

it was done using around 16,000 lights, and a programmable controller setup with around 80 output channels...basically the song is loaded as a MIDI (digital) file, then you can program the various channels based on the music...it's not cheap though. at least 10 grand in equipment...
the guy must really like christmas

I guess nobody watches the news or something....

Last year City Pulse did an interview on 2 brothers who setup their house every Xmas and put on a show...

These guys really love Xmas... and what better way to share with the people around them... lol

I can't remember the exact address or anything, but I do remember they live in Scarborough... my memory isn't what it use to be..

If you're lucky to spot the house, ask them to put on a show... appanrently they configure the sequence differently every year...

Lates,

When you have that many lights, do you leave them up year round, hell, I don't have the urge to take down my 200 lights.

it's a guy named Carson Willams, in Ohio.
when he puts on the show, he broadcasts the music over a radio frequency, so that the audience can listen to the music on headphones.

That sort of sentiment is really too bad, even though I can understand the neighbours might not like all the traffic. There was a guy like this a few houses away on the next street when I was little in Calgary, did the most amazing yard decorations and lights. I still remember seeing it for the first time as a toddler. Every year it was different and better. Over the years though it became known city wide, and and hundreds and even thousands of people would come to see nightly. Of course the neighbours complained about the traffic and crowds (we had long moved away, and we would go to see it still). He eventually moved the displays to an automall miles from his home - where after 20+ years of doing these great displays, it only lasted a couple or so years before he packed it in - I think taking it from his home and neighbourhood killed the joy that motivated him to do it in the first place, and turned it into a job. Too bad really.

Sounds like you and I grew up in the same neighbourhood. It was just off 37th Street in Glenbrook, right? I think the guy's name was Wayne *** or Cook. I was trying to tell someone about him just the other day. His costs over the course of a Christmas season were outrageous.

The guys name sounds right, I believe its actually Glamorgan - just in from the lights on 37th and Grafton Dr, opposite the World Health and what all is in that strip mall.
