well, im not exactly a movie or even clip critic by any stretch of the imagination, but after watching this clip a couple times here are my thoughts.

although the intro was rather interesting in a "wtf am i watching" sort of way, i was left feeling the producer failed to really capture the raw emotion of that dramatic first sequence. perhaps it was the lack of subtitles combined with my failure to properly learn even one language, and i couldnt even tell you what language was being spoken let alone what was said. the cumulative effect was i didnt find the characters seriously developed over the course of the film and were really much like cardboard cutouts. the editing was poor to say the least as they should have cut the kids first 2 failures on the lighter.. or perhaps a close up of old pops there.

i found the action sequences to be, well, lets face, non existant. this is usually a big let down in a film, and this is no exception whatsoever. although the motorcycle and badass kid smoking lend to the impression of a good high speed chinese action movie, this particular effort falls short of the mark. perhaps a chase scene or a quick kung fu demonstration could have been added. hell even a crackhead thai hooker stumbling by half naked bumming a smoke off the kid would have truely spiced things up a bit. kind of an "incredibly poor parenting" meets "full metal jacket" thing. "YOO want sucki sucki?".

overall score 3/10
i see potential for a sequal of this kids life involving many police chases, kung fu fights and crackhead thai hookers so i am reserving judgement on the series until i see part 2. however this particular left the next a large job of filling out the characters and really grabbing the audience.

cheers

Very funny.

As far as my thoughts. I didn't make it through the entire video. I was stuck at the kid.

I am all for mass reversible sterilization upon birth. One can be de-neutered once you have proven yourself worthy of being a parent. (yes I know this would lead to potential atrocities but seeing innocent children abused by their dumbass good for nothing parents is just as much an atrocity.

IMHO, that shows whats wrong with the world today....that potential parents don't have to take stupidity tests prior to creating a child.

Unbelievable... that's the worst parenting I've ever seen.

I mean come on! Did you see how bad that kid's manners were? He didn't offer any smokes to anybody else. Just plain rude.

But in all seriousness that should be punishable by death.

Different culture, different way of thinking. I'm sure the parents are proud of the kid in a way and the people watching didn't find it offensive. Its also probably just a one-off thing so its not as much of a big deal as it seams.

Lmao awesome post. YOO want sucki sucki? lmao. As far as that vid went, that kid is gonna live a seriously short life if his parents keep raising him. For which I suggest capitol punishment, one last visit to Guantanamo before it closes, and a life time supply of **** meat sandwiches.

I disagree with you on it being a one off thing. Firstly, the kid knew how to use a lighter without burning himself. Then he placed the cigarette within his fingers in a specific way. He also didn't even cough once. I know he probably didn't inhale the smoke but it would definately make a first timer cough regardless.

I think the fact that the incident was recorded suggests how novel a circumstance it is even for the subject culture.

looks culturally commonplace to me................sad; but it is a different part of the world.......doesn't make them worse, hell some eat our beloved pets in other countries, they only know what they are surrounded by........like my first visit to vegas and seeing people smoke in the hotel lobby and restaurants, I thought WTF, but what's normal to some isn't to others, sad or nice nonetheless..
