How to remove trunk on a vert ?

1989 vert.

I do not think I have seen this covered on the forum so I have a few questions....

1: I did a quick glance for the connector for the trunk wiring to see where I can disconnect it from to remove the trunk but nothing. I moved the plastic trim from the trunk by the hinges. I do not want to try to disconnect from inside the trunk and feed it through since it seems difficult and it is held in place by hold downs. Is there even a connector for this harness other than at the third brake light and interior light ?

2: are the badges double sided taped on or does it have those plastic pins? I want to take them off for painting but if not I have to tape.

3: would I need a new gasket around the 3rd brake light after I reinstall it ? Or should it be fine for keeping water out?

Thanks a bunch guys.

1.) You need to feed the harness out of the trunk as there is no connector.
2.) From the factory, they have pins. Generally, the pins break so you would need some adhesive tape to put it back on.
3.) Put some oil or Vaseline on the gasket and it should come off without separating.

Thanks. Sounds good. Just removed the trunk to sand it.

Also mods I posted this in the wrong forum. I meant the 2nd gen forum but I don't know how I ended up here.
