How many of us are on the Silver Wheel plan?

Curious how many of us are already on the Silver Wheel insurance plan (Lant Insurance). Specifically, I'd like to know if they're sticklers when it comes to the annual distance traveled and slight modifications/upgrades. It'd be interesting to hear from someone who has had direct dealings with them. I only know of one member who is on the plan and 3 or 4 others who are considering it as I am.

I just called them. They said I would need the car appraised, and to fill out the application form here....
https://secure.lant-ins.ca/silver_application.php

She seemed a bit hesitant when it came to modifications though.

My annual payment based on a $10,000 value would be around $225 for the year!

I'm not insured with them. But if they are giving problems about modifications, why not ask about their Custom Wheel Plan?

I am about to get my car appraised for just that reason. I will be applying for the Custom wheel plan, I spoke with them as well and all premiums are based on the appraised value.

I've been using Silverwheels on my 78 Savanna RX-7 for years. $100 a year, no mileage restrictions, $200 deductable. It doesn't get any better. PM me if you need any info.

my dad has been using them for years on his 61 Corvette. Has no problems with them. He has told me there are no km restrictions, basically all they ask is you dont go leaving your car in a mall parking lot. Its prefered your car is a show vehicle, and it can be driven, they just dont want you treating it like an every day car.

i will be adding my FD to it also as soon as i get my apraisal also

I gave them a call today. apparently they won't cover street legal race cars. kind of ridunculous to have your target audience being the modified scene and not accepting the cars modified for a purpose

Darryl, not quite ready for "Grey Power" lol, I've heard lots of good about the silver wheels, and Custom wheel plan, once I am of that age, and have a car worthy of it, I'll be doing it as well.

Thanks for all the responses! Good to hear there is some experience and more interest out there. I looked into the Custom Wheel plan as well and it's only $100 a year more. In my case, I think I'll be fine with the Silver Wheel plan. I spoke to them yesterday and listed what's on my car and they said I'd be fine with the Silver Wheel plan. They gave me a few names of some appraisers in my area so we'll see if we can get a discount (there are 4 of us looking to get this done right now).

An important thing to remember is that you need to have another car insured through one of the big insurance companies to qualify for either Siverwheels or Customwheels insurance.

I am on that plan since last year (when my FD became eligible 15 years old)
400$ for full coverage with 100$ deductible, got appraised for a fair amount and it's insured for that amount. They told me the appraisal is valid for 5 years, after that I have to get it re-appraised. I think that's only fair. Besides, I like knowing the real value of my FD.

The fact that it's modded didn't seem to bother them so long as it's not extreme. Since most of my aftermarket parts are simply OEM replacements it doesn't seem to bother them. Plus a few things they don't need to know about.
