For everyones information, results may vary:
Let it be known that shipping is extremely expensive and time consuming process from England to Canada.
Im currently in the process of buying a Land Rover and the freight is around $2400. Marine insurance runs $250 to $450.
If you can do all the paperwork yourself, than you can save a pretty penny.
With the company Im going through, Im expecting about $3550 shipping to Halifax, plus $1300 inland freight to Calgary. Plus Their fees, Im looking at around $6800 everything included.
Thats $12,000 for a $5000 Land Rover!
Of course, Im going to drive myself from Halifax, so right there I save $1300 minus flight and fuel costs. In hindsight, I might save $300. But the Adventure will be worth it.
So yeah, its costly. You really have to ask yourself if its worth it. I looked at buying a LHD model from the mainland, but forget it. The Shipping was even more ungodly.
