Wow, lotsa people stayed for the Trans Am Race, LOL. Isn't the 77 car a 2 rotor PP?

By the way Joe, great work on the Genesis. I know how much work and effort you guys have put into the car. Sasha is a very good peddler and you guys are giving him a great ride. Great work. I even saw you on the webisode from ICAR. Now just wait for the weight/restrictor prize for doing so well. By the way, any Genesis motors left in Canada????? Sorry, couldn't help it.

I was in Chicago so I couldn't go, but my buddy was announcing for both the CCTCC races and the pit lane guy for IndyCar Lights and Indycar. The stories I heard were really really good, but I can't repeat them in public.

I hope he wasn't the announcer for the Trans-am practices on friday Eric. I was almost upset at this guy's comment: "All the cars sound the sound the same until you hear that Mawzda come around. The sound must be the over-rotation of that Wankel engine it's got."

^eh? I thought the announcer was pretty kind to the 7. He was like, "here comes the Mazda, everyone just listen to that sound" and "its amazing how much power you can get out of these motors that are the size of half a keg of beer". Guess I didn't hear that particular comment ^_^

^ no no he wasn't bashing the rotary, but just the thought of my engine "over-rotating" scares me.

These are from the last stretch of the back straight before corner 8. I took about 800 pictures this weekend and I haven't even got though 200 of them yet.

racerJason, want to PM your email address so I can start sending you some of your photos? Do you want the fullsize or are you okay with the ones I scaled down to 20% like the ones above. I have copies in both sizes. These are obviously free just to be clear.

I believe that the World Challenge and Trans Am Announcers were Tom Hnatiew. He can be a bit over the top and tries to be more American than most Americans when he is announcing (actually a Canadian), hence the "MAWZDA". He is really a great guy and good to know.

What is even more interesting is that way way back he was one of the first owners and racers of a factory 2nd Gen RX7 in Canada. He ran it in Escort Endurance races and had a bunch of trick parts developed for the car. I have his cheater gas tank. He was also the guy who created the Firestone Firehawk Series in the early '90's.

Just trying to fill air time I guess with his Monster Truck Show act. My buddy only did the CCTCC, the Indycar race and the Indycar Lights race. He is also a Canadian living in the U.S. and loves coming back to Canada so he can use "Mazda", "Permit" and "Decal" properly again, LOL.

I only have 3 and 2 are in paddocks. They aren't great and the on-track one is a bit out of focus in the front, but if you need bigger copies let me know; these are at 25%.
