Hey
I've just joined! How many of you guys are in the GTA? In a couple of years I will be looking to make the move to this platform. I currently own a 2005 STi (too nice of a car to track it) and a 1992 3000gt VR-4 (Let's face it, not much of a track car). I will be leaving the VR-4 platform once I repair it and I'm hoping to find a 3rd gen RX-7 that has a solid frame. It would be my project car. My question is, how do you guys find getting parts/blocks/custom parts here? Is it usually very difficult or is it just a phone call away? Will it take me a couple of months just to find a few needed parts? How is mazda's support with parts? Do they still supply some parts for the 13b-REW and 3rd gen?
Around a week ago I was filling up some Ultra 94 at a sunoco just off the 404 at davis drive and there was a 3rd gen filling up behind me. This was in the morning, I was driving my Black '05 STi. Was this anyone here? Hello!
How often does a 3rd gen LHD come up (running or not) in the area? I would be looking for a less expensive one to work up from.
I'm a very curious person so a few years early isn't too soon for me to start researching

LOL, straight up
anyways, many of us are in the gta, parts for 3rd gen are quite easily to come by from other rx7 owners + aftermarket stores, mazda will support you with a few parts, but also depends on location.
and the color of the 3rd gen behind you fillin up gas would really help identify the person.
btw, if you think a 2005 STI is too nice of a car to track, i doubt you'd want to track a 3rd gen then.
and if you meant too nice of a car as in price wise, news for you, even tho 3rd gens about 15 years old now, they aint that cheap

Welcome, and please don't take offence to the above remarks but the STI is a typical/average car in attendance at lapping days just about anywhere.
I'm in Newmarket, right near the hospital and have yet to see a 3rd gen in town but have seen the odd one northbound on the 404 in the mornings. There is one RICED 2nd gen here though...

is it red with a airbrushed hood?
Yes it is rare to see a 3rd Gen in Newmarket whereas...
There is a second gen I see around Patterson or Lundys Lane, it's red, has chrome trim along the bottom of the doors, veilside-ish front bumper, RX-7 emblazoned in a few spots etc. Nice guy but not my cup of tea.

I know they won't be cheap. I will be looking for one that doesn't even have to be running. At that time, it can be more cheap. In the end I may spend a lot but those are not the numbers I am looking at :P
I'm looking to make the STi the every day car, the reliable one, and I am interested in making the RX-7 the play one. Something to tinker with.
Coming from the VR-4, the STi's ride is a lot smoother, interior is a lot nicer. I still even have warranty on it
It was 27K mod-free.I'm southbound in the morning so that may be a bit difficult
Are there any online manuals, download-able pdfs, anything that I can download and read? I am going to do a quick search....
EDIT: I think I just hit the mother load of information, I guess you guys don't have to worry about hooking me up

Thought you meant for me to say hi...haha. I guess a wave will do, just keep an eye open, haha.
Actually, I searched on here for manual pdf
There appears to be a nice list, alphabetized.
