Good Check To See If Aux. Ports Working
Not sure about S4 guys, I think the aux actuators are inverted, but I've found a very good way to check on an S5.
After the thread about my NA seeming too slow for my tastes lately, I decided to check the aux. ports as per numerous suggestions and my own suspicions.
I've attached a picture. Which although out of the FSM, still isn't entirely accurate.
The blue square is a piece of metal that protrudes from the assembly. It's difficult, but if you can pull the rod up out of the bore and have the "hammer" as I've called it, rotate you will notice that the hammer comes in contact with the metal protrusion I've ingeniously dubbed "the stopper."
Load up the stopper with a good dollop of grease, being very careful not to have any come into contact with the hammer. Take it out for a drive, get it up to past 3800 rpm and when you come back take a look at the hammer, if they are working it will have picked up some of the grease from coming into contact with the stopper.
For those with emissions ACV etc. still in tact, it's a bitch trying to fish your hand inbetween that junk and the brake line etc. but it beats going to a dyno to watch it or finding a hand pump with a gauge etc.

No power hiding anywhere there.
