Anyone in/near Nova Scotia want to be in a magazine?
Note: This is for an engineering friend. Not me directly.
I've got a problem.. awhile ago I got asked to build a compression tester for a rotary engine. This is a trick, because you need to read the crank angle sensor yourself while someone cranks the engine. Then you need to analyse the data you get for the peaks and valleys to determine the cylinder pressure, in correspondance with the angle information for the CAS.
Board costs maybe $100 tops and replaces a VERY expensive tool from Mazda.
Anyway I dumped $500 into the project, made the board, wrote the software, and the guy is taking his time getting back to me. This makes xtal unhappy.
It makes me more unhappy because a major EE hobby journal I've been published with before wants to pick up the article. I throughly enjoy having something published and on the shelves at Fry's.
Does anyone here:
a) have a rx7 and hopefully know something about it
b) know someone WITH an RX7 who might be interested
c) be willing to connect my board to your CAS and engine cylinder, crank the engine, and log some numbers to a computer for me
d) be willing to take photographs for publication
e) is not going to flake out on me
Obviously you would be mentioned and credited.
I'm still trying to get after the original guy, and I'm looking around here, but there are VERY FEW RX7s still running in this part of the world.
