Gauges???

First of all i would just like to say that this is my first post. I would say i know a lot more about the rotary engine than the average joe. I have always love rx-7's. i recently picked up a 93 touring edition. I love it. I want to pick up all new gauges.
EGT, water temp, oil pressure, fuel pressure and last but not least boost.
I have heard to stay away from autometer as there are usually off by 1-1.5 boost. I was thinking maybe vielside but they do not come cheap. any ideas??

I have all Autometer gauges. Ultra-Lite full sweep electrical, and a mechancial boost gauge. All have been working flawlessly for years. I can tell you that my boost gauge reads the same as my Haltech.

Autometer does have differing levels of quality, so if you get their 'good stuff' you will be fine.

Defi makes really nice gauges also, as goes GReddy.

Good place for us Canadian Boys to get stuff cheap is the RX7Store: http://www.rx7store.net/index.asp?Pa...S&Category=212

Welcome to the Forum.
I'm in Ottawa as well

Congrats on the new purchase and bring it to the Orleans meet sometime, there's usually a handfull of ottawa RX7club forum members there if the weather is good. Wednesday evenings from 5 - 7 or 8 pm i think.

I have Autometer Phantom water temp and oil pressure. They work fine, and are accurate enough.

Have the Orleans meets started yet?
If so, anyone going tomorrow?

autometer have a few issues not the least is the 30 year old analouge technology , side lighting and plastic needle posts that break quite often and they don't warrenty..

I use Defi and I'd reccomend it to anyone.. if you don't like the expense then try the Apexi EL ( seres 1 ) guages or the Blitz BLM series..both work well the the FD interior lighting.
If your looking for a cheraper guage the Stweart warner company has a new series of guages that are designed by the former Autometer head designer.. they've taken all the short coming of autometer , corrected them and sell them at 1/2 -2/3 less then auto meter. They also to allot of metric stuff, including speedos.

Yes they've already started, i think John, Azad and Jay, when he was up here, went the wednesday after the ottawa meet/cruise. I doubt i'll be there much this year as my job cosists of me being there from 4 - 10 or 11 but i might take a day off here and there when car is running plus i have a couple weeks off in july
