Fuel issues...I believe
Hey guys, jus tryin to get my 12a turbo running properly. Pulls fine through first, then top of second it starts cutting out, then at 5000rpm in third the car power cuts out, then at lower rpm in 4th and then a lower rpm in 5th. Any ideas? I'm running a weber 48 Ida.
Thanks, I changed all those things...but i didn't change my wires. I know, stupid, but I didn't think they could cause such an issue :S . Anyway, I'll change them and see what happens. Hopefully she runs properly. Anyone know if there's a Racing Beat vendor anywhere in the GTA?
Check your fuel pump volume output at the carburetor to make sure it is flowing properly. Also make sure there are no restrictions other than your fuel pressure regulator. What pressure are you running, and what size needle and seat do you have? I had a friends car act similar with a 48IDA. It turned out to be a clogged fuel line right at the carb itself.
This reminds me of when i had my Rx-3 track car with a 12a monster inside. I left it for the winter completely ignoring it for the season. April came and I went to take it for a spin, and it would never accelerate, it was like something was choking it as soon as i would rev up to 4 or 5k's . Turns out I forgot to switch on the leading coils........
Hmm. I'm running 4.5psi, and i checked that at the very end of the fuel line (the one that connects to the carb). The carb is new, with some swapped internals. Umm, I'm running a 300 needle, not sure about the seat. And what do you mean you forgot to turn on the leading coils sctRota? Thanks for the help guys, I really hope to get her running, so I can have a little fun with the carb. Going EFI next year...lol.
Everything there sounds good. Did you take the fuel line off of the carb and then turn on the fuel pump to make sure it is putting out lots of fuel? You could still have a restriction somewhere else in the fuel system. Also, what pump are you running?

I had a switch to activate my crane cam coils, but i forgot to turn em on. Where in Brampton are you? my shop is pretty close by to Brampton why not take it for a spin down here? I'm guessing its plugs or the coil wiring... If it was a fuel injected, im sure it would be the tps sensor lol
