the more stubborn people are all over the LS1 swap. not many people find this to be the most cash effective.
RE is less common but for the fanatics quite fun
20B seems to be more well known then a stock RE-W
i've seen the RB26 swapped but didn't hear much of the numbers.

how about no swap, and actually use the styock motor that came with the car. by the time you swap in an engine, you could have rebuilt and upgraded your stock motor. unless you have the motor, id say just so streetport rew, unless for some reason you need more than 500 hp.

Not to bash anyone but I think unless people have done this kind of swap or driven an FD with a different engine I don't think it is fair to suggest which one is better. Check out

I have to ask, How many 500hp rotaries have you owned? Do you know what is involved in owning a 500hp rotary? Do you know how long a 500hp rotary lasts?(How many KM's will you get out of it?)
Think carefully before you consider doing anything and know what your getting yourself into before you start buying parts for any project.

I have done many V8 swaps in my past, and while none have ever entered, or will enter a rotary, most of them were deemed "specials", motors that don't just bolt in, or require custom bellhousings, driveshafts, or altering pinion angles.

You have got to be joking right? 60k rebuild on a 5.7L LS6? I think you should do your homework, 500 engine HP out of that motor will last 100k easily if properly TUNED. You should read up on LS1tech.com , the only thing scheduled at that mileage would be valve springs and check your Timing chain.

Oh here we go... My engine is better than your engine.
Swap what you want, but when you do:
1. Do a really detailed budget. Then double it.
2. Set aside as much time as you need. Then double it.
3. Find a really good deal on hose clamps!
