FD photoshoot when the weather was nice!

This is a customers car I built the engine for in the summer, just finally got the pics from my buddy who took the pics.

Figured I'd post 'em here too since he's a local guy. Very cool guy to deal with, he's really happy with the way it turned out....after a such a long wait.

1993 FD
99,000 kms on chassis
2,500 kms on fresh engine
Custom streetport
Apexi RX-6 single turbo kit
Apexi externally vented wastegate (loudest thing on the planet)
Greddy Front mount Intercooler kit
old skool Haltech E6K
Tuned by Ivan (our tuning, wiring guru and RX-7 lover)
Defi Blue racer gauges
Fresh paint by Joe from Classic Autobody

The car makes roughly 425-450 whp, pretty fun stuff!

Enjoy!

Yeah Ivan tuned it, he did a great job too. 10.9-11 AFR across the board.

Heres a dirty pic of the engine bay.

How much boost? Would be interesting to see a dyno graph. Nice build.

What do you mean roughly 425? Was it not dynoed?

We street tuned it up to 18psi on 91 octane, it would blaze the tires into 4th gear but turned the boost down to 12psi for the customer. Scary enough at 12psi for the street.

425whp is an educated guess comparing it to other rotary cars I've driven. So no...it was not dyno'ed. Possibly next summer we will convince him to run it at a dyno.

No, 9.0 rotors from a Cosmo 13B. Same as the original FD rotors

Very nice!
12lbs is plenty for the street.

very nice car. must put down the power nicely...the RX-6 is a nicely sized turbo for the street, IMO...not cheap though!
not too many people running 400whp+ on those turbos on pump fuel, but who knows. looks like a great build!

Well I could be wrong with the power guestimate. But I'm going to stick by it until we get it on a dyno and find out for sure.

What sized injectors and what was the duty cycle at 18 PSi. We can guess the power from that.

550cc primaries and 1680cc secondaries flow tested before install

I'd have to ask Ivan our tuner if he remembers the duty cycle, but I think we were almost out of injector....

Assuming 80% duty cycle...

425 theoretical rwhp on a Dynopack, 380 on a Mustang
*assuming my assumptions are correct on certain things

Anyway, getting off track... damn nice car, less then 100k!
