I have a standing offer to drive a school bus in a race at Sunset Speedway this summer! They want an outsider to push around for a bunch a laps!

LOL, if it is any consolation I attended a nightclub in Leicester Square many years ago by choice, where the guest DJ was Boy George.

Wink I Feel Better Now

OHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOO! That is much worse, LOL, you chose to attend.

I was forced to go by my girlfriend at that time. I begged and squirmed, but was still forced to go to keep in her happy space. Worst thing about the concert was that my just previous girlfriend was sitting in the row just in front of us and kept turning around and shooting us looks like we were pitchforking babies.

Regarding, racing confessions, I went to Varney Speedway and crewed for a guy in a chain race. I watched it through my hands over my eyes. I had to go to confession afterwards I felt so dirty.

Well last night's race was probably one of the less exciting examples but I still enjoyed.

Looks like the Iceman has a chance to final make his mark on F1.

Massa should just retire now instead of playing second fiddle to another better driver. Although Massa did well to get from the back to where he finished, he appeared to struggle through the pack rather than charge through like he ought to have.

In the interview sessions Alonso looked and sounding like he was still longing for last season's Renault. It looks like Hamilton is going to try his best to challenge Alonso better than any other co-driver he has had previously.

I think this season is going to get very competitive very soon.

I've been catching F1 on and off the past few years because of the dominance of Michael and Ferrari.
Last night was the first time I've watched an entire F1 race from start to finish. Things have drastically changed on the cars and some of the best drivers (entertaining to watch) have left the series.
The cars have some crazy fins all over them. They're no longer clean and smooth looking. I actually wonder if all those little fins do something other than adding some flare to the cars.
The wings have changed dramatically. The front wheels look huge now due to the small front nose.
Best looking cars would have to be the Honda's with their Earth schemes.
I don't remember the last time Ferrari had such a red car! It's usually accented with a bit of white due to the Marlboro logo. But even the logo has changed for the new season.
The McLaren's look really nice. I still prefer their vintage orange scheme, but at least they've added the chrome/silver finish to the car.

Even though I'll always cheer more for the marquee than the actual drivers, this years Ferrari drivers leave little to be desired.
Kimi is a very cold character. Someone needs to improve his people skills. He can drive very well, but I would never cheer for him. Massa on the other hand did a tremendous job last night! To go from dead last to 6th place is extremely hard! Hats off to Massa.
I still think the man to watch is Alonso. Last night we didn't get to see much of him, but I think he's going to be a force to be reckoned with later in the season.

I have no idea why David Coulthard got tangled with the other car 9 laps from the finish! I guess those little side view mirrors are pretty useless? lol

I'm pretty sure it'll be another dominating year for Ferrari.

Lates,

The Race was so-so.

Trust me Neo, those wings are not for show. Those engineers fight for every bit of downforce within the FIA chassis limitations. Whatever it takes for the air to glide over as smoothly as possible.

Kimi will dominate with the Ferrari. Everyone knows that. He's going to win at least 10 races this year. He's not much of an interview...guess we need Eddie Irvine back.

I don't think Massa needs to retire after one race. That's dumb. Even Schumi didn't always chew up the field when he started back on the grid.

JPM did pretty well in the NECKCAR race today. 5th place.

What last night demonstrated is that the best funded and engineered seat in F1 is once again occupied by a talented enough driver to leap ahead of the pack. It also tells us that Schumacher was not at the top of his game the past two seasons. The right driver in that car equates to a championship being secured, Michael's due date had past and his skills grown somewhat lethargic. You put anyone from the top third of the field in that particular car and they are immediately capable of winning. When Michael suffered a broken leg a number of seasons ago they put Mika Salo in his seat, what happened? He was running first until the last lap when team orders had him allow Reubens to pass in two races. He's still bitter about it by the way. Aside from mass damper technology and holding Alonso's contract for two years Renault enjoyed what will be remembered as a brief bit of sunshine. Kimi may be bland at the track but once you get him away from the track everything changes. At a party I was a guest at Kimi showed up for an hour and then disappeared. Turned out he was jetting down to Vegas for two nights with his brother and a buddy to stir up some trouble. He is notorious for his womanizing. His wife caught him in bed with two other women one evening.

Well I am not suggesting that he retire after one race, but rather his whole F1 career of playing second fiddle. Massa was a couple of seconds off Kimi's pace at times when he had clear air in front of him. He sat behind the Hondas for what seemed like an eternity. (cars which were clearly slower than the Ferrari). I guess I am tainted from watching Schumi's last race where he tore through the pack.

I feel the same way about Rubens, why would he continue to endanger his life after it becomes clear that he does not have what it takes to be numero uno. Don't get me wrong I do appreciate that these are the best drivers from all over the world. I understand a guy that is starting out trying to prove himself with a lessor team and then moving up to a better team to realize his/her potential. But when you've driven for the best and were not able to deliver why continue?

I liked Saturday nights race, it was fun to not have to stay awake until 2AM to watch a 2 hour F1 race.

The race overall was pretty boring and I am happy DC decided to climb Wurz and hitch a ride at least it gave us something to awaken us from our drone state.

What made me laugh was in the interviews after when Alonso was like I don't know how it happened I came out of the pits and I was ahead, my @$$. But good job for L. Hamilton he showed he will be good, Alonso looked, well bored. looking at the gaps between him and Raikkonnen and it was boring.

I mean when it was him and Schumi you would see gaps shrink or grow FAST compared to Saturday nights race.

About the comment on Schumi I don't think the Ferrari is some secret wonder car which noone in the world no matter how much money they have will ever catch up to. I hate Schumi but he was good, great even.

I hope the new Honda will be better than the one they brought into the first race or I will be the village idiot for my previous comments on Honda.

Go Alonso!

not exactly an exciting race, but i didn't think it was as boring as some people have said. i mean, if you define an "exciting" race as lots of crashing and passing, F1 might not be for you .

in any case it turned out more or less as expected. it seemed like Kimi was on a whole other level compared to the rest of the field, but that is not entirely true. it's just what happens when a good driver and car get the lead and stays there.

BMW looks strong, Renault looks like they have lost it, and the Honda B-Team almost did better than their A-team, heh.
i don't like the soft-compound tire crap. in fact i think they should make the teams run harder compound tires and forget the soft.
well, should be a good season i think anyway.

Shell shut down streets in London, New York and Sydney to make that ad - at a reported cost of $4.6M. During the planning phase there was discussion that it was the most expensive 30 second ad ever made.

Now you know where your gas money is going! lol

Indycars/Champcars using 3L V12's? That's a big negative. Last I checked, Indy was using 3.5L NA Honda V-8s and Champcar was using 2.65L Turbo V-8s.

Ahh i always thought they were V12's. Ahh well, learn something new. big positive on that...lol.

--edit--
However after doing some research, there were V12s used in the F1 at one point. Apparently as it is now up to V10's can be used with rev-limiters. I guess TLC wasnt all that wrong, it was just...late on its new information. Thanks for the big negative tho made me actually look up the info

Come on eViL... Champ Car use TWIN turbo V8's.

F1 haven't even used V12's since 1995!

Toronto is a poor track to get a true feel of Champcar's speed and power. Tremblant will be a much better venue - and a great place to spend the weekend! Try and go. Of course, the F1 weekend in Montreal is always a great time - even if you don't even go to the race! lol

It's neet to see Champ car and F1 in the flesh and see (and hear) the difference.

lol - still too old. All V8's now. Last year everyone had to switch to unlimited revving V8's, except for one team (STR - aka former minardi) that got to use a rev limited V10. Now they are all rev limited V8's.

Ferrari was the last team in F1 to use the V-12s. That was in the 412T2. Even though the V12 is a Ferrari trademark, they switched to V10s in 1996....but they also got Schumi
