Effing Pistons

RECAP: Installing a 1g DSM head, intake, and electronics on the 2.4 that came in my Ram 50.

So, the exhaust, intake, and cooling systems are all finally hooked up, which allows me to actually run my truck for more than 30 seconds.

Runs the hell like crap. Need to keep pumping the pedal for it to work, backfires once in a while, general no goodness. However, running it as long as i did allowed me to see the glowing red exhaust pipe...

OF COURSE! THE TIMING! I just stabbed the CAS in there... It's pretty likely to be retarded... Something to try tomorrow. If I get lucky, maybe I'll take it to the dyno and leave the car at home.

No turbo yet... the bottom end of this motor is somewhere north of 350k.

If the powertrain holds up another year or 2, I will freshen it, pull the balance shafts, and add the snail. Oh, and drop it into a Courier or LUV.

glowing red exhaust?? meh, keep it that way - in the winter you can go out and fire up the truck and then cook breakfast on the manifold - hilly billy style!!

Actually, you're right. Part of the swap involved turfing the heater core. I was going to use electric ones, but now I think I'll just run the exhaust pipe through the cab.

On the contrary, feel free to use it as an arm rest, just don't bring your genitalia near it.

Greenest FB: Oil change, new plugs, no more exhaust leak. I'm aiming for 127 HP.
