Tech Inspection

I know there will be questions about the tech inspection, so here are the dirty details:

Our priority is safety on the track, we don’t want to find out that you had a mechanical failure during a hard fast turn.

Please check over your car before the race, so that you have time to run and get something if need be.

The following is what we are going to be looking for during the tech inspection:

- Metal battery tie down strap (battery should not move at all).

- Fluid Leaks ( If it’s something minor you’ll be ok, but if you’re dumping oil everywhere…)

- Tires in good condition. (Tread depth / type of tire is not an issue)

- Absolutely no hub caps or trim rings

- Static Brake Test

- Accelerator Return Spring

- Absolutely no loose articles in interior of the vehicle

- Seatbelt/Anchor check

- Wheel Bearings (Last thing anyone wants is for a wheel
to drop off.)

- Snell 2000 or greater cert. helmet. (We will have 1 or two loaners)

The itinerary for the day is as follows:

08:30 - Gates Open.

09:00 - This is a good time to arrive. The faster we can check everyone in and tech the cars, the more laps you'll be able to get.

10:30 - The first runs will begin.

12:00 - Break for lunch.

12:45/13:00 - Afternoon runs commence.

15:00 - Last runs of the day.

15:30 - Track Cleanup and Checkout.

16:15 - End of Event.

Volunteers:

We will be meeting at the Tim Hortons on 16039 97 St NW@ 07:00. We will proceed to the base from there to set up the track.

Directions to the Event (Starting Northbound on 97th Street and 137th Ave):

- Take 97th Street North out of Edmonton until you reach the Edmonton Garrison Exit.

- Take the exit and proceed North into the base.

- Proceed through the 4-way Stop intersection, and turn right on Churchhill Ave. There will be a security check here, tell the guard that you are with the Edmonton Rx-7 Club Autocross and he'll check your name off the list.

- Continue East until you reach a stop sign (Rhine Raod) and turn left.

- Proceed North until you come to the next stop sign (Vimy Ave.) and turn right.

- Drive eastbound and you will soon see the entrance to the airfield. Stop at the Security building and once again check in. You MUST be on this list to gain access to the airfield.

- You will be let through the gate, and then make your way to the N.E. Taxiway where the event is being held. Do not exceed 60km/h on the runway while driving to the taxiway.

- Do not speed through the base, the MP's are vigilant and won't hesitate to ticket you.
