Dual EGT

I dunno if anyone's seen these from Pineapple racing, I ordered one a couple days ago....

They're a pretty sweet little unit and I figured I'd see if I can rouse a few more buyers into the GB.

Not very exclusive, but yeah not a bad idea.

....actually Nismo, it IS exclusive, the Royal Dist. ones only measure up to 1600 degrees, not all to useful for a 7 with an aftermarket turbo.

Not to mention they want over 300 dollars just for the analog dual gauge....

They can order you one up to 1800, and it's not too much more, thoe prices are CDN. It would work out to be a lttle more expensive, and it's not as large of a scale... But t's still a good buy.

I spose the CDN $ is doing better, so buying from the states isn't such a huge deal...

For the record the pineapple one goes up to 2000, the guy from royal I talked to on the phone said they don't make one that goes that high, 1800 is the cap.

And for the 1800 degree gauge from them is 349cdn (according to the guy on the phone) so its about 100 dollars more, and 200 degrees less

You know, people complain about the lack of rotary specific products on the market. The guys at pineapple go ahead and make something designed for the engines, and for once - its cheaper than regular alternatives - and the response I get is "not very exclusive", sorry but that kinda erks me a bit. Yes, there are others available, but they aren't exactly what Blake has and they aren't made to read high enough (so Im told anyways, many of the tuners I've asked have said exceeding 1800 can easily happen when tuning high boost at 12.5:1) so they go out and make one, but you seem to think that its not very exclusive.

Well thats fine, everyone's entitled to their own opinion but I for one will support anyone who makes a rotary specific product like this (even if it was a little more than some generic alternative) because thats what this community is based on, support.

I have one of the 1600*F ones. I was using it in a previous setup and other then the fact that it peaks at 1600*F and came with 2.5" camp clamp thermocouples it responded very quickly. I could see a quick change in EGT from the second I got/got off the gas, even from idle.

COOL

Thats kinda what I was hoping for, Ive never personally had an EGT setup before, but was looking into one for monitoring my setup and this one seems to be the cats whiskers. I mean not only can I monitor it, but I can do so per rotor thats almost obssesive complusive!! haha

Ive heard from other people that they are VERY responsive and really thats what Im after, information. Apex seal saving information....

I think its great they're making rotary products...but...Ouch...they are way cheaper here...

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/in/egtgauges.html

aircraft gauges. 1900 F for $50

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo...s/westegt2.php

dual for under $100 - though that one goes to 1700

http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalo.../micro3egt.php

And the rest of them:

Thats the gauge only but thats a damn good price!

Again, gauge only, but still good prices!!

And again, none go up to 2000 degrees, I don't know HOW necessary that is, but the tunres I spoke with (reted, Karack, Blake from Pineapple) all told me that mid 1900 in high boost tuning is where it can hover....no way to tell unless you get past that range.

Also, as stupid as it is, the pineapple one is marked F and R instead of Right and Left.........really its moot but I think its cool......and by the way this thread getting treated Ill probably be the only person in Canada with one - hahaha

Ok,

My only thoughts about this post is that I can peg my egt past the 1600°F easily. Way past it.

So if you guys are looking at EGT gauges the only go to 1600 or 1800 your wasting your money.
