DGRR 2k9 CARAVAN INFO and etc.
I figured a new thread was a good idea = I hate digging through threads and possibly missing an important post.
besides, joe is almost beating my post count so I may as well postwhore a bit. hahah
You'll all have to figure out when to leave your places, I think it's a good idea to arrive in windsor at 4-5PM and leave here no later than 5-6PM. Earlier is better IMHO = it leaves more time for relaxation on the way down. I want to sleep well the first night so I'm not tired the next day :P
Maybe we should figure out EXACTLY where to stop on the way down and I'll find us a bob evans near there so we can leave earlier this year. I am sure we can make it to NV for noon-2PM the 2nd day instead of leaving cincinatti for 2PM.
PENDING breakdowns of course. If my car has mechanical issues I plan on leaving it behind or something. I am hoping not to have any issues but you never know as we found out last year...
Here's the itenerary as posted by joe
Apr. 16th
Meeting at Tim's in Windsor near border: XX:XXpm (hopefully around 4 if this is doable?)
Stopping for sleep: 12:00am or so
Apr. 17th
Drive: As early as we can after Bob Evan's
Arrive in NV: 4pm ish
Apr 18th
Driving the dragon
Filling up with gas
Repeat the above two all day + sunday.
A friend of mine would like to come down with us in his evo - DRTHVDR on the forum, he was in the speed 3 last year if you guys remember?
Anyways, he asked if we had some extra room in the cabin, is anyone else cool with that? And we'll just divide up the bill when we get down there, I figure the more people the better. I think he'[s got 2 or 3 people with him, I may be carrying a passenger as well.

Daniel, we might be fitting Charn in the cabin as well if he ends up going, so as long as he's alright with a possible couch or floor for sleeping then alrighty!
Also, there's a few other guys from the states who might meet up with us too, mostly depends on the 2nd day. I almost have to play it by ear in case there's a breakdown though.

You can, but some of us have to work. Remember it won't be a problem to get to Cincinnati, especially if we leave a bit earlier than last year. I know where the Motel 6 is and the Bob Evans is just down the street. I mean you can see it from the parking lot, and you drive by it to get to the motel. No hunting required.
I'm fine with however many people will fit in the cabin, I've already got a bed and it'll be cheaper for us with more people. If anyone wants I think I have a good air mattress (double size I think) I can bring. Someone has to call dibs on it or else I'm leaving it behind. PM me if you want it.

I'll have the same bed as last year Sounds like a few more people this year going down. With the sounds of people bringing extra passangers would it be a big deal if my brother came too? Might be a bit to squished in a car that long.
O and the earlier the better to leave. I would rather not drive till 12.

how early can everyone make it to windsor?
I'd be fine for leaving at like 11AM.
(if we left that early, we'd be past cincinatti before rush hour, or at least just as rush hour is starting and hopefully avoid any major traffic issues). We could find somewhere on the edge of the smoky mountains to sleep at, having only 3 or so hours of driving needed before we made it to nanthahala village the following day, giving us tons of time to explore, and we'd still be able to find somewhere to stop by, say, 8PM.
But I realize leaving that early is probably unrealistic for most of us, or is it?

I can too, but keep in mind there are guys coming from furthur away than us. The earlier we leave windsor the earlier they have to get up, and most likely alot of us will be up late doing some last minute prep. It wouldn't be a road trip with the last minute stuff.

The wife and I will be leaving Thursday morning, but will be driving straight through. Maybe we'll see you guys along the way. I'll keep an eye on your itinerary and see if I can match it up at some point along the way. But most likely, we'll just see you guys when you get there...

Broke in the skyline last weekend.
My transmission is starting to concern me - 3rd gear is noisy on decel and the shifter kicks a little in that gear when you let off the gas too.
but whatever, I'll leave the boost low and hope for the best.
WHAT TIME AND ETC are we meeting up? Post people! :P
