As far as I know I'm in, and finally going to be driving the 7 up. It's also my birthday that day

 

I might show up, and hey it's my Birthday too!!

 

No ****! I'll bring some beers we can celebrate... unless your driving your car on the track... I don't think TMP would approve.

Hmmmm, I might have to make an appearance as well. It's not my birthday, but I'm willing to celebrate with beers!

 

Anyone eles coming, 15c and sunny....should make for some fast lap times

Cs13b you are in sauga arent you? i swear i see a red vert all the time driving by sq1 in the morning

I'm in the east end of the city so I don't pass sq1. There is another red vert in Toronto that I have seen before and I get asked all the time if it's me. That vert has bigger chrome rims on it.

 

theres 2 red verts in mississauga, In Oakville there is a Silver, white and red vert only the red ones are S5's

For some reason I see alot of running Fc's in oakville lol

 

I won't be able to make it and I don't think Nismo can either....

Well had a blast as usual at the track. I was getting about 10km/h quicker on the straight away! But thanks to me not knowing what my rear end was doing (Just installed a torsen from a miata vs the stock clutch type) I was chickening out a bit on the turns. At first I thought it was just loosing grip 1/2way through the turn, but turned out it just initially kicked out a bit more and then grabbed. Didn't get to learn that till after the competition .. but oh well live and learn.

I had some issues also, I think this is the first time ever getting any issues but oh well its all bound to happen sooner or later. First on the track, I experienced some ECU cut off, which later turned out to be the bolts holding the battery down all came out and the battery was bouncing around. Luckily I have have my battery in a cage where it can't short power out on anything easily.

Secondly coming back home right after filling up on fuel, the car starting ticking really loud, like a diesel or a bent valve on a piston engine. After doing some brain storming and calling around for a few advice. Loose flywheel, or loose bolt off the pressure plate is what seems to be the consensus. So I'll shortly be taking my transmission out and inspecting that area.

Gabriel has lost a turbo also on his monster. Blades are touching the housing according to Jim.

And Jim ... well he was just being Jim as usual and putting down some quick laps (I think he still wants to put my car on fire and run me over :P )

 

Nah, thats just the general consensus with RX7 owners towards the FB, you're not that special

 

I had a blast!!!!
This was the first time out lapping, I know now that I will be spending lots more time on the track next year. I want to thank Sam for being brave enough to come out with a novice like myself and giving me great pointers on how to control your car going in and coming out of corners. He also helped me set tire pressure and Tokico 5 way Illuminas for a better ride.
According to Jim, this is where you really learn how to drive.
As Sam said, I lost my turbo that day. My bearing is shot, I have about 1/4 of an inch of up and down shaft play.
I know it hurts, but it was worth it. I never knew how much fun driving your 7 could be.
