AB CSCC timing equipment stolen

Folks,

We have some bad news, some of our Solo Sprint Timing Equipment has been stolen.

An enclosed trailer was broken into some time Thursday May 15, 2008 during the night, in the rear parking lot located at Enhance Electric, #10, 21 Highfeid Circle SE.

The Perpetrators broke into the side access door of an enclosed trailer by cutting the hasp off, so much for putting on break proof locks. Once inside they stole the following items:

A duffle bag containing a complete DBCOM Timing system, which includes timing unit; receiver; tripod stand; and a backup power source and associated cables.

1- Tripod
1- DBCOM timing box receiver
1- DBCOM timing Antenna and cables
1-1000w Honda generator (red).
1- Gallon jerry can of fuel(red)
4 - 2.5 gallon jerry cans of fuel (red)

The timing equipment (being proprietary) is of no use to the perpetrators and likely has been disposed of somewhere.
If anyone has any information please contact the Calgary Police and send an email to solosprintcalgary at yahoo.ca

Feel free to post this message on other forums!

We are planning to either purchase new equipment or will be borrowing equipment from another club for our first event June 2.

Attached are pictures of the timing equipment.

Regards,
Erik

I'll spare everyone my standard rant on thieves, but I will post the link back to the CSCC web forum for anyone in the Calgary area who may have seen something.

Likely the thieves will have kept the ~$1100 Honda generator (price when I was looking at a possible replacement for the CSCC's second one last year) and the jerry cans, and dumped everything else in a dumpster or garbage can, so on the off chance anyone sees the stuff, it would be appreciated if they could snag it and use the email above, or post on the CSCC site to get the equipment back. In the unlikely event someone spots the generator, besides being quite clean and well-cared for, it will be clearly marked with CSCC, has a yellow hours-of-use timer added, and last I knew, was missing one of the four rubber foot pads (Erik may have replaced it last year tho').

Thx
