So this thing showed up to the shop yesterday
It had the worst knocking noise ever! So now the teardown begins!
The Skyline ran a 14.4 at 11psi of boost with a FMIC and cone filter.
Other than that...its bone stock!
And then more pistons showed up.
The WRX is getting a GT30R, FMIC, injectors, fuel pump, lightweight flywheel, ACT clutch/PP...all sorts of things. He's aiming for 350whp.
I'm hoping he has a stock pile of spare transmissions!! LOL.

Its only a rear wheel drive skyline. 220HP out of the box and well over the 3000 pound mark.
Guy here did all the bolt ons he could to his and got a maximum of 250HP at the wheels. It took a beating before contamination in the oil pan finally made its way through the engine.

seen a GTS-T last night has some stuff done to it not a whole lot.....
that subie is not bad just not my personal taste, there is one Red Deer here i would like to see run the 1/4 mile, it has a Japanese STI transplant (2.0L that redlines at 8000RPM) it is a wagon but no one would think it is fast. has a standalone (fully standalone system called Autronic installed) frigging sweet got a ride and with 4 guys in it, it hualed some sericous *** and only externel modification are a STI look-a-like hood, Exhuast and some Enkeli's (i dont liek spelling) nice car, i may get some pics up next time i see it

Hehehe yeah the Skyline was at the track when he kinda "blew" it up. But he still went out for another run
The camshafts are freekin huge on those things!!
The WRX looks better with the summer rims on it...Volk 57 Pro's, the same as Ian has on his FC

Meh, pistons pay the bills to support the proper engine (rotary) work.
But that's one of the major reasons I'm not willing to open a shop...Not enough rotary to pay the bills, and I refuse to work on piston cars (for the most part).

Hahaha no the DSM on the hoist gets no love
It's not special enough
R.P.M. doesn't just only work on Rotaries...my buddy Chris is the piston guy. He specializes in DSM's, he helped build and tune Brad Davis's Talon that ran 10.6 last year at a CSCS event. Chris is building himself a Talon that will compete head to head with Brad this year.
Aarons right though, the piston engines are waaaay more common then the rotary customers....its still great to build some fast piston cars

Pig in a dress?
I agree though, it's nice to see any project fire up for the first time even if it does have pistons...

The water pump is off a Maxima and the lifters are the same as an Altima.....I think lol. I'd have to check again.
But most Skyline specific parts like intake gaskets and stuff like that need to come from the UK.

this is too funny in an ironic kinda way.
I move back to the city (NOT MY CHOICE!! LOL) and the first Skyline I see is in Walkerton! LOL.
We used to live in Clifford.
Thanks.

the rotary is awesome, but i have love for any awesome car (i can name many piston bangers)...the ones in this thread don't excite me that much though
at least not so much stock...i'm sure they will end up being decent rides though.
