Clean-looking '94 for $10K - too good to be true?

http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Mazda/RX-...a/19_3831529_/

Looks really good - I don't have the money for it right now, but this is almost ideal - all the parts that I'd like, too... but is this for real?

I'd prefer a Montego Blue 1995 R2 (non-existent, as far I know from online production info), of course.

It does look like a good deal, assuming it is true. If I were buying it, I would want to know how long ago the engine was rebuilt and by who. I'd try to find out who he got the car from in the states, and see if that person was on the forum.

Then all the other usual stuff like compression tests, and check for boost issues, and so on.

high-ish miles, US import, etc? I doubt I'd pay more than that for a 18 year old car.

hey Sonicfd,

Ive been out of the rx7 world for nearly 4 years now but is 13,5 for a 1994 lhd fd considered too much nowadays? I checked out the ad and it looks like a good price for a recently rebuilt engine and few mods....I remember back in the day that would of been a great deal but today?

$13500 is a decent price with those modifications and not many people will know it was originally $10000. I would do my best to negotiate if at all possible. Then I would sell the ARC products since there are better alternatives. They might actually bring in a good amount of $ since ARC is dead.

I know it's a RX-7 Specialties swapped engine with PFC tuning done by them as well. I'd say the new owner has done nothing in the last week to change it. It was a solid car then and the only difference now is the price.

thats good to know. i was actually just offered that FD as a trade on my skyline yesterday. Making me reconsider seriously if the guy is just trying to make a quick buck. You dont happen to have proof of it recently being 10g by any chance?

I do have proof since I saved the original advertisement. PM me an email address and I'll send the complete webpage. That way you can also contact the last owner for better information. The new owner seems like a flat out liar. Told me he's selling because he doesn't have enough time for it. . .

Why would he want your Skyline? He told me his gf/wife was pregnant and he didn't have time for the car.

Sketchy... I'm hoping it goes to a good home for a fair price, in any case.
