If you're not planning on selling the car, install an aftermarket or JDM FD steering wheel without the air bag. It's pretty obvious that they were less than helpfull for the type of impact that the car sustained.

I have no money, but I'm offering both ********* in exchange.

Damn dude , I wouldnt think the body would be worth alot , around 5kish ? I think it would be better to strip the car of body parts that are screwed , going to someone to get the frame straighten/repaired , buy aftermarket or second hand parts , install and paint them , screw air bags and get an aftermarket steering wheel. 18k is wayyy to much and you need to be going to a different body shop.

I think I can do everything for about 12k.

This includes Carbon Mazdaspeed hood, airbags, and real 99 front, and apexi sideskirts.

yeah, I'd buy it too, that damage doesn't look bad at all!

$18k is WAY steep, wtf!

frame machine time isn't expensive, and then that part is fixed for good. Fenders are cheap (used or through cross canada). Hoods.. not as cheap but still not bad, same with bumpers and headlight doors.

JDM steering wheel as jeff suggested, or look for a used one from someone else that went the JDM route!

airbags + sensors = $4700? wtf! that's crazy.

I don't see how it is illeagal to sell a car with frame damage, that doesn't even make sense.

****, I just bought a parts FB with a rusted frame, I can go sue the P.O now!

it is, however, illeagal to misrepresent what you're selling... which has nothing to do with the current situtation.

Hrmm ,but since this car has not been written off... No one would know !! Lol j/k

Jason , I think you can fix it for around 8-10kish.. Strip everything yourself , buy second hand parts and get them color matched , frame repair will not be over 2k.. 18k is the biggest BS ive ever heard!

So I now have the price down to 11 but the big mistery is how much I can get the passenger airbag for hmm...

Well I have had some good fortune and have been able to source a few more things. (The passenger air bag is still imposible to find)

Wait till your insurance company finds out after you a serious accident on teh street and you are in the hospital and the adjust goes sees the car. Can you say insurance liability and injury coverage denied? You have to inform your insurance company that you are removing the air bacg in a car equiped from the factory.

It may seem safer, it could be sater, it may be safer, but your insurance company only cares about the statistics and what mazda has done for crash testing. Even if you scaved death by not having a airbag but still suffered serious injuries you are stuck with the bills.

1) Stock....unless you are never going to drive in a the rain or if upgrading to a V-mount steup in the future

2) I prefer the GTC front over the 99 spec, looks so good. The 99 spec looks odd withouth the front license plate holder to me. Don't know why, but it does. Probably because of the fact I only see it that way (GT4, Pics) until this summer with Jaymez's car.

3) Tried to look up the APEX'i skirts, but didn't find any in my quick search, but seen the FEED. Don't know if I like the running board style of it, but looks good overall though.

Just my thoughts.

That would be extenuating circumstances, in which case you are forgiven.
Regardless, I really hope you can repair your ride. It was a beautiful car.

My vote goes for 99 spec bumper WITH front license plate, and Apexi side skirts... Keep the hood stock.. Very sexy and clean look....
