I've been to great falls in my beat up SA22C. At the time I had my old 12A in it and my suspension is so stiff that I spent more time looking in the mirror for dropped parts than looking where I was going.

Trip went fine with no problems.

A joint meet would be good because them there more heads if other RX-7 fanatics can't make it. Maybe we should extend an invitation to the RX-8 club, you know, just throw it out there.

Hey Aviator 902S I'm also going to SAIT. I'm taking the HET (Heavy Equipment Tech) program just across from your building. Cool to see another 7 owner at SAIT.
I just saw a dude with a 10th AE in the AST course working on his car the other day.
If you see a black S5 give me a wave.

Black S5--- ok, I'll keep an eye out. Mine's a silver '85 GSL. Is yours a two year program? BTW, the aircraft building on the main campus is no longer the aircraft building. We moved to our new hangar at Calgary International Airport last September. It's huge, and WestJet was kind enough to donate a Boeing 737-200 to us. It actually fits inside the hangar even with all the other planes and helis we have.

Oddly enough, I've yet to see a 10th AE in our parking lot. The only other 7 in our lot is a basket case 87 N/A and occasionally a beat-up black S2 1st gen. Does your AST friend store his 7 during the winter months? See you at the meet in May.

Oh yeah, almost forgot:

1000 POSTS!! And it only took a shade under two years! Now I can go to bed...

Well, I picked the 2nd Saturday.
I HATE Sunday drivers.

I have absolutely no way of knowing which continent I'll be on in May, so it's probably a moot point.

After the april/may meet, what does everyone think about a weekend trip to edmonton for the Molson Indy on July 15/16/17???

Just thought I would bring up the idea...I'm going for sure, and I thought it would be cool to pull up to the track on race day with a train of 7's.

P.S. I'm not trying to hijack the thread..just figured it would be the best place to post for opinions.

It might not be that simple. I've never been to an Edmonton Indy race, in fact if they've ever had one in the past it's news to me since I've never really followed events in Edmonton.

But I have been to Vancouver Indy. If the experience in Edmonton resembles that in Vancouver, good luck finding parking at all, let alone 7 or 8 spots in a row just waiting for us to pull into them in our RX7s. Even if such a stroke of luck were to exist, you can bet the cost to park there would require a 2nd mortgage. As long as they don't have routes around the track blocked off to traffic you might be able to drive by it, but why cruise all the way to Edmonton just for that?

Yeah...was a vancouver last year...it was great. This is the first year for edmonton so I figured why not check it out. I'm still going either way...just trying to see what kind of interest I could spark.

It would certainly be interesting. Even if you're no a huge desciple-type race fan. Engine noise, beer, scantilly-clad women, beer, cars, beer... no argument there. But best bet would be to get there early and find the closest free parking available, then walk the rest of the way. How much are tickets?

Prices range from $50 (general admission) to $200 (gold grandstand-- this allows you to go everywhere on the track (pit pass, best view of the track, and also the paddock area where all of the team trailers are)). I got the golg tickets at vancouver...well worth the price if you're going for all three or four days.

Ya me and my buddy picked up a gold pass. I'll be there probably all weekend and maybe the week before. I hate edmonton, but I love the mall.

Back on track: So mid may seems to be the day everyone wants to gather. Sounds good to me, I'll book it off work if we can decide an exact date AND a backup date incase of weather.

Man I'd love to come. Do you know how many people I know that are into a rotary or the seven? NOBODY! My other friend mike knows just a little, and likes the seven, but I can't talk to him about ideas and mods and ****.. It'd be nice to talk to anyone at a place to find that they drive and love the same car as you

If I do come, I'll bring a shitload of hamburgers, buns and other ****. Good buns too, not those shitty *** package types heh..

I'd like to see a good set of buns attached firmly to a female.

Thats what we need. More female RX-7 enthusiats. The ones we have are awesome, now alls we need is more.

Men. Assemble. We've got some work to do........

Hmm that may sound like a good Idea. LOL. That way we can all book that weekend off with minimal confusion. I suggest we keep bumping this thread until May since a sticky doesnt seem present. Drill it into our minds!
