Calabogie TRACK days 2007- Ottawa

Motorsport Club of Ottawa
2007 “Lapping Days” at Calabogie Motorsports Park

The Motorsport Club of Ottawa in co-operation with Calabogie Motorsports Park is pleased to announce our inaugural season of ‘lapping days.’

MCO will be offering a safe, fun, value packed program of lapping days in 2007, in conjunction with some of the premier events taking place at Calabogie Motorsports Park.

Dates:
Monday, April 23
Friday, June 22*
Thursday, July 26**
Friday, October 5***

* - Friday preceding the Calabogie round of the CASC-OR SoloSprint championship.
** - Thursday preceding the Ted Powell CASC-OR Regional Race at Calabogie. This is currently planned as a ‘no noise limits’ day.
*** - Friday preceding the 2nd Annual MCO Goodwood in the Valley track weekend at Calabogie

Cost:
$250 Motorsport Club of Ottawa Club Members
$275 Non-members.

General Information:
Lapping days will be divided into two run groups, with one of the group being populated with more novice drivers, and the second group populated with more experienced drivers.

Racers and race cars are welcome, with the understanding that this is NOT a test day. Test days are available on the Friday preceding the Ted Powell Regional race, and possibly other times throughout the year.

All cars (including race cars) must meet Calabogie sound restrictions (93 dB as measured on track).

The course will be fully staffed with marshals, fire, rescue and ambulance.
Registration can be made online at http://www.karelo.com/register.php?BID=269
A complete set of rules, regulations, and technical requirements are available in the MCO downloads Lapping section.

sweet.

pending bigger plans/car not working, i plan on going to all but the first.
it looked pretty busy last year, but still must have been fun.
see Azad, why did you want to part out your car?

i hope my car isn't over the sound limit. last year i was surprised at what didn't pass.

That's excellent news! I'll definately try to make as many of those as possible. Is this for the whole track?

The only annoying part is the noise limit...

Wow, looks good. Would be fun to race along some of the Porsche's. How many cars would be on track at one time?

yeah if it weren't the closest track to me, it'd be too expensive.

as for the question about how many cars, there were quite a lot the last event but that was the first event. probably 100 cars or more? at any given time maybe 40. it was real busy. hopefully it won't be so bad this summer, but most likely it will be.

Last I read it was 60 cars max per event.

Runs of 30 or might be 3 groups of 20 , and passing will be allowed in certain areas.

good to see they are limiting the numbers a bit. hopefully that doesn't mean it's hard to sign up for.

If you consider that calabogie full track is longer than mosport, it really isn't that expensive. The track is also quite beautiful.
