I am not very familiar with haltech (e6k) system...so I am a bit confuse.

I want to prepare to run my TD07 for 15psi next spring....Do i need a boost controller?? or my haltech will be able to do this without manual/electric boost controller?

Your Haltech wont be able to do it on its own, if you get a boost control solenoid, you should be able to wire it up and have one of the AUX outputs control your boost level.

Or you could buy a Turbosmart manual boost controller and do it that way

 

The E6K and X's boost control feature isn't that **** hot though.

Since its only based on solenoid duty cycle and nothing else, you can boost higher when its cooler out, lower when its hot etc. If you plan on using an electronic form of boost control over a manual - I recommend you use an idependant boost controller. Something like a profec B will control boost in "closed loop" mode, meaning it will shoot for a target level, and modify the solenoid duty cycle to fit that level constantly.

I was running 8psi without boost controller....so i wasnt sure if i need one to run 15psi...but now i know..

As for manual or electronic controller....i am still researching on them. Anyways... which one is a more reliable and recommended one to use??

 

Just depends on the brand George. Either is fine, it just depends how often you'll be turning the boost up and down.

 

e boost is really nice as it targets a determined psi, while profec b does not ( or blitz sbc ) .

But either one are great.

If you dont want anything fancy then a good manual one will work great.

If you have a big hotside/turbo and bigger wastegate then taking advantageof a EBC is great with the gain feature when tuned right .

with a tdo7 assumming 23A 25A or 25G a good EBC wil be worth it.
