Do we win a free set of R1’s if we guess correctly?
If this is the case, my guess is Scarboro Mazda…Do I win?

01Racing do you use em on your race car? For the short time I used them, I couldn't get them to feel balanced. I tried changing the air pressures around quite a few times which helped but was never perfect in my feeling. Thoughts?

Yes I use them and love them. I have set the fastest and most consistent laps I have ever run on them. The tire pressures are quite low, you probably had them over inflated. We start ours at about 26-27lbs cold. Target is 32-34 hot.

OMG! That would explain it. The target on the Hoosiers is 36-40 so I would start them between 32 and 34 depending and then leak air out after runs until it was within the target so I did the same thing for the R1's. No wonder they felt funny. After I go through my Hoosiers again, I'll try the R1's once more. Thanks.

There is an owners manual for the R1 tire on the BFG USA website.

They recommend 36-42+ for a 2700-3000 lbs car which I believe I'm in. Now I'm confused lol....

Your race car is like 2,200 lbs right?

Yes thats true but we run at the low end of the scale. The other thing to look at is how much bigger of a tire your running than the stock size. The bigger (wider) the less heat you will build and the lower profile will need less air pressure. If I were driving your car and using air in the tires not nitrogen, I would start them about 26-28 cold...........you might be surprised.

Are you referring to the stock 93-95 16X8 wheel centers?
