Because I'm Really Bored...

... and always disliked the large/wide soles on your standard running shoe. I bought new driving shoes for the track . They're pretty comfortable. Maybe now I can finally heel-toe in the RX-7 like I can in the RX-8

Marco, I bought the same pair last summer in Brown/Beige. You'lI love them! Still easier to hoe/toe in the 8 espeicially if you modify the gas pedal. I need a better gas pedal for the 7! it's on my list
Man, I miss my 8, fun so easy to drive, even in the winter.
Also Marco, you can move you gas pedal over a row of holes on the pedal.

Thats why I didn't buy the full height shoes like the ones below... They look ok for normal wear.

I have shoes just like those, also from Sparco but they are red and aren't as high. More like those Puma shoes

The Puma's are SFI/FIA rated, my Piloti's are casual (Prototipo originally, now on my second pair of Thirty-Two's).

I have these. I wish they were half a size larger! Fireproof (requirement for lemons, why I bought them) but they're GREAT to drive in.

Piloti had a booth last year at Performance World and were selling shoes for I think $60. Sizes and colours were limited but a pretty good deal. Hopefully they will be there next weekend again.

I've had a pair of Piloti's for a couple years. Great for driving in, but if your walking for more than a few minutes they start to hurt the feet. Got mine on eBay for $70... I think.

Good to know. I was thinking of picking a pair up at PW just as some new shoes.
