ATTN: London Crew- Howsabout a meet?
All that talk, and no action. How does Monday, July 25th work for everyone? Or, Friday, July 29th? I only say monday or friday because I work almost literally all weekend (2 12 hour shifts, from noon to midnight both days) and I work 3 days through the week as well. I think we can do this. It'd be nice to see at least ONE other Rx7. I'm the only 2nd gen in Exeter, and other than me, there's only 1 FB too. So, who's in?

I've been pondering a track meet in the next few weeks. I was going to talk it over with TYSON and Snrub first though. The idea would be to head down to Sparta for some racing, then dinner/drinks.
Ideally, Saturday is best for something like this. But Saturdays are funky for me since I'm usually in Toronto. So Friday night is also good...Anyone else want to chime in?

I work fridays till ~8pm, that puts me in london by 9:30 at the earliest.
Mondays work for me, so do saturdays, tuesdays and thursdays
in any event, I'm down.
How's all the londoner's doing anyways?
July 28th was the last mid-summer bi-annual london meet,

Yeah Aaron, not so sure about the track myself. My car is just getting paint today, and I have some other issues to work out. I'm down for a friday night thing though, I think that'd be cool.

Typical...As soon as I mention the word "track", everyone wusses out.
Seriously, just run your daily driver. Don't have to bring the RX-7...
That said, a weeknight type mini-meet is fine with me. No sense going out on Friday night if we're not going to the track.

I think doing a Friday Sparta meet sounds like fun. I have higher profile tires on the front than on the rear, so I should get some good launches.
Regardless I'm pretty much wide open.
rick_tj, what's your concern about the drag strip and your car?
Tyson, to make things fun you could line up next to an Insight and give it a 3 second head start.

My concern about the strip is actually making it there (where is Sparta?) and then making it back home again. Oh, yeah, I've never raced either. EVER. I don't really care what's going down, I just want to meet some other RX owners.

Sparta is a 20 minute drive from London. I try to get there on as many Friday nights as I can, but lately I've been very busy.
At any rate, a meet is a good idea, even if it is a weekday non-track meet. So anyone have any idea when?

Sitting outside is kind of nice though and I don't think we can do that in Masonville. You know... Theoretically everyone could come over to my place for BBQ and whatever. It's fairly easy to find. Lots of room, etc.

Masonville is not the most idea place. Aren't too many patios in the area, and standing in a parking lot is soooo LAC.
Snrub, that's actually quite a good idea. If there's time, I can make a rotor-housing BBQ for the occasion. And probably nearly the same distance from Exeter as Masonville would be (at least, time wise).

justtrish: Do you own a red 2nd gen?
Wow, the London people are starting to show themselves...Now all we need is that guy with the maroon 1st gen, and the silver V8 2nd gen...

I just looked at a map. Coming from Exeter you'd only have to make 3 turns to get to my place.
The downside is that it would be about half an hour for Tyson and slightly more for Aaron. I'm not sure where justtrish would be coming from. Downside #2 might be deer flys.
It wouldn't be the end of the world if we didn't eat outside, but Masonville doesn't really have anywhere to eat. At some point I imagine we're going to end up standing by cars so there's not much point in trying to avoid anywhere with a parking lot. More choices are only a little down the road, it wouldn't be complicated for Rick to get to them.
Does my place or a resturant sound preferable?
I think I've yet to see Tyson's peripheral port housings, so perhaps they could be brought along?
What's the earliest approximate time everyone would be able to be at a meeting spot on the 25th?
