Clean record? Have you tried going through an alumni association?

TD Meloche Monnex has decent rates through Security National Insurance Company. They'll probably charge a bit more because of your young age, though.

Prepare to be bent over by insurance companies. You're young first of all and second it's a performance car.

I'm 24, I am with RBC insurance ( also get a discount because home insurance is tied in ) and I pay 111.30 a month for my 89 Vert. Granted I'm married and have been driving since I could get a license. Probably looking at sub 100 bucks on renewal.

Given your age and the fact that it's a rhd fd finding insurance for you could be tough.... if you were 25 might be a different story.

21, RHD, in Ontario. Even only knowing that, take whatever you can get.

The hard truth here is the only thing that brings down a rate, especially for vehicles like ours, is driving flawlessly with your full G for a few more years.

Until then, you have to pay to play.

On the bright side gas seems to be staying cheap!

I hate to admit it, but the man's right. I hate to think about what I paid for my Z32 300ZX every month. Looking back I wouldn't change it and I think it was worth the money for the great driving experience (especially commuting 100km each way to work) but wow, did it hurt.

As far as I know, there aren't any that will do it these days unless you have at least a second car to be insured. The good news is that since yours is a 93, it will become eligible for classic car insurance when it becomes 25 years old next year.

I'm older than you (38) but I had a RHD a couple years ago and insured it for $90 for the year. I only had PL and PD on it and placed a value of $4,000 on the car. Its worth giving these guys a call. Living out of province shouldn't matter, I'm in NS and they are in NB. Good luck.

You won't find anyone willing to insure RHD let alone a 21 year old driver with a modified car. Facility is your only solution. Look to pay minimum $400/month. I was quoted $700/month for a clean record and I'm not in my 20's... Getting a RHD insured in Ontario is impossible these days hence why RHD cars are almost worthless in Ontario. One major reason why I left. Best of luck.

Correct. I'm with Lant (and it's a parent of Hagerty) and I can drive the FD anytime I want, but I have to have another car, be older than 25 and I can't drive it to/from work. Having said that, I did say to them that I do work on the car at work from time to time, so I am allowed to drive it there for that purpose. I am paying about 30 bucks a month or so and the car is insured for 25K IIRC. Granted, since I DID HAVE another car and I HAVE MORE THAN DOUBLED 25, those stipulations weren't an issue.

I should add that Lant (Hagarty) will still insure RHD collector cars but they must be 25 years old or older in addition to the driver. Also, you need an insured daily driver, and you cannot use your collector car for daily use.

Wow.. lots of money spent on insurance here it seems. I bought my LHD rx7 FD last year when I was 25... still insuring a BMW 335D as my daily with 40k km yearly and 10k pleasure driving with the rx7 each year. I don't pay more than 150 per month. I'm with TD with alumni discounts only.
Save some money and buy a LHD
