Chris, Graham Your leaving will deprive the community of the knowlege you have to share.
Chris, I know we never saw Eye to eye in situations, however I do hope to talk to you sometime face to face, and have a civil conversation, to Burry that hatchet as it were.
Good Luck guy's!

) Even screaming matches in the Lounge have fallen under the knife - something that had almost never happened before this year.AFAIK, RETed hasn't spent a dime on advertising on the forum and isn't personal buds with any of the admins or the owner. If he's on a Prized and Protected list, he got on it by accident.
[QUOTE=Amur_]Or maybe it was snipped b/c it was a flame, which isn't supposed to be tolerated any more in here (unless it's aimed at CAN-SAF.
You flaming CAN-SAF? Bad Amur Bad

damn I see why my post was edited my attempt at trying to burry the hatchet... still somehow managed to turn into a flame war... In a thread that is about good bye's and good luck's.... oh well I guess it is forum nature to flame... NO MATTER WHAT.

No, moderators can't read PMs.
ADMINS might be able to, but moderators definitely can't.
And considering the admins seem to have their hands full with other things most of the time, they would only read PMs IF you gave them damned good reason to (assuming they have that ability).
Think about it. Even if you had the ability, most people have better things to do than to sit and read people's messages to each other. I have a tough enough time reading all the posts that go through 1st Gen and Canadian sections in a day and responding to my own PMs.
It's a public domain forum. It's here because we as enthusiasts make it so. It's in all our best interests to treat each other with a certain degree of respect no matter what our personal opinions or social agendas are. I don't have to like people, I just have to disagree in a civil way. It's not hard to show dissatisfaction and share my opinion without resorting to vulgarity, direct attacks or flaming if you take a few minutes to think before you post.
More than likely the largest exposure to PMs that we mods get are PMs reported to us by other members or PMs sent directly to us.
Everyone's had a week to say their goodbyes or hop on the last train out of rotorville, so unless anyone has any objections I'm going to close the thread and let it drop off the main page.

edit: for the computer geeks out there, think about this: The PMs are sent and stored on this forum's server. This means that even if none of the mods or admins have the ability to read PMs, the DBAdmin could conceivably write an SQL query to pull it up out of the database. This is a pain in the *** to do for no reason, but is definitely do-able for anyone with access to the server's database directly. Anyone here who knows how to do that knows how much effort is involved and thus how much you'd really have to *want* to do it before you'd invest the time. No system is perfectly secure. Someone at Microsoft has DB rights to your hotmail inbox too. Someone at your ISP has DB rights to your email there. But who has the will or the time to invest in that kind of attempt? If you want to talk securely to someone, get a PGP key and send an encrypted email, or talk face-to-face.
