This event should put Canada on the map regarding our performance and racing market potential! This is an official call to all of you to make your presence know on that day! We are going to charge a $5.00 admission and donate all the money to sick kids hospital. There will lots of food, drink, magazine coverage etc for this great event.

I just got an email from the Motorsports Manager at Mazda USA and the Dyson transporter and MZR Lola Le Mans car will be here for the event!



As of right now most of the Rotary powered racers in Ontario will have their cars here, Star Mazda series will have a car with drivers and transporter here!

Great...um, see if you can get Jim Downing to bring up that 4-rotor KUDZU or, better yet, try for the 787b; i would love to hear that monster idle and rev for a bit.

 

Lol.........I think we better see how many actually show up for this event before we go asking for Mazda to spend thousands to ship cars from California! If we show them what potential is here, who knows what next year can bring!

I just thought I would share with all of you the response I got from the manger of Mazda Motorsports USA about our upcoming event, and why its so important for it to succeed in our market.

"You are welcome, Alan… This is what Robert (VP marketing Mazda USA) has coined “Motorsports at Retail” and the opportunity to help directly have a positive impact on consumer traffic driving programs (like your event), vehicle sales, parts sales and the overall positive customer experience by show casing the tie-ins between production vehicles and the vehicles and powerplants we have on the track."

 

Grassroots Motorsports Magazine is going to provide coverage of the event in their magazine, with pictures and write up!!!

 

K If i come by on friday night sometime, stay in scarborough or somewhere overnight, go to the even for an hour or so, then hit up dunville. I think my saturday is going to be pretty jam packed lol.

 

Sevenstock North (eh?) is on Sunday! Lap on Saturday (don't blow up), stay in the city Saturday night and on to Scarboro Mazda in the morning!

 

Lol ... sorry, I was thinking of a totally wrong weekend. I was thinking of this upcoming weekend. I really should stop posting really late at night when I'm extremely tired. But ya I'll be doing the saturday stay overnight and then off to sunday events for that weekend.

 

If I'm not somewhere out west I'm in, but unfortunatly it's tentative until about 2 weeks before the event.

 

Just thought Id post an update........Mazda Canada has given us special pricing on all Mazdaspeed Parts for the day of the event! BFGoodrich/Michelin Tires has done the same! Any help I can get for promoting this event would be greatly appreciate from any of the members! We need to make this the biggest ever and show the factory how big this market actually is!

this is a crazy thought but could we do some local radio advertising for this event as i know london's radio station do lots of work for the sick kids hospital.
id would be up to the task of seeing if we could advertise this way?? just a thought tho

 

Not crazy at all I think its a great idea if they would give us some free air time for the cause! Please let me know if you can arrange it and what you would need!

up date on radio air time:
so i spoke with radios stations in London they wont do it as its 200km away they did say i should speak with CFRB, EZ Rock and Virgin 99.9. so i gave them a call. we can do a public service announcement if they have room and it must be sent with in 7-10 biz days before the event so we wont find out until the time comes if they have spots or not. we need a 30 second script so they can get the info and read it out as it came in, if some one could arrange the script for my as my English sucks as u can all see il take care of advertising it as best i can.
